PRC 349 battery chargers, is the 14v battery charger seen on the withams web site the same ones to charge the ni cads on the clansman 349's...

 

I am just looking at how I can charge the batteries without the chargers and thinking of connecting up a 12v power supply, as I dont have any 12 volt ni cad chargers...although i do have 12 volt chargers but they are for lead acid and other battery types...

Ni-Cads need their own charger, you can't use one designed for lead-acid or anything else. eBay is probably as good a place as any to find one.

The options for charging the PRC349 batteries are either the universal (349, 350 and 320/351/352) battery charger tray for the IBMS or the 6-way slow charger plate used with a DCCU. For occasional use it's better (and likely cheaper) to get the 12 x AA battery cassette rather than the sealed ni-cad pack in my opinion, so normal AA cells can be used.

on the ni cad it says 12 volts not 14 volts? am confused...

I have bought the 6 unit charger, I dont have any of the man pack radios yet.
