  3. Different trailer and it has had an engine transplant.
  4. Imagine what a squadron of 20 or so aircraft must have sounded like lining up for takeoff.
  5. That's a new one on me, I had to look it up:red:, Yorkshire slang apparently.
  6. You haven't stated the application but to cover all bases have you checked they are not left hand thread? 65mm AF is big and definitely in to 1" square drive territory. Have you got access for a flogging wrench?
  7. Allegedly 9 built for the AFS, almost identical to the REME ones and even came with a cupola.
  8. There are a couple of new 12.00x20 bar grips on Milweb currently, check they are the correct ply rating. http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/large_image.php?ad=74207&cat=50
  9. SLDT uses a Fuller RTX 11609A, same as B but slightly different ratios, see here for oil specs:http://www.roadranger.com/ecm/groups/public/@pub/@eaton/@roadranger/documents/content/rr_trsm-0430.pdf
  10. They were part of the CES on Scammell Explorer among others, there were 12ton and 20ton versions.
  11. Hi John, looks like a good project, my old one is buried in this thread somewhere but here it is on CCMV http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p411439082/h2e0b3959#h2e0b3959 A 35t Crusader 5th wheel will fit fine, only the release handle is different. I can provide a rough sketch of the mounting adaptor if you don't have one. Has the rear crossmember been removed, I can't see the towing eye and winch rollers?
  12. Also supposedly flying over Woburn at the Moth rally on the 17th Rick but no mention on the website though http://www.mothsatwoburn.co.uk/ Tried to get tickets for Sywell but they had sold out.
  13. I took a first aid course which also counted.
  14. Now then, Shuttleworth have a serviceable Tutor, anyone have a Manchester, Shackleton, Lincoln, York or perhaps a long forgotten Arrow we could add to the AVRO collection??
  15. Yes, for £2150 you can fly alongside but originally they were offering flights on the Lanc both in the UK and even on the trip from Canada which sold out within a couple of days.
  16. Thanks for posting those, any idea what the hardware hanging off the bumper in the original photo is? I have seen some with a clip on hydraulic winch but that looks different.
  17. Really? You are putting 24cfm of air at ~100psi into a fully sealed cabinet. I call that a bomb, unless it has an elaborate filtration system and an exhaust port.
  18. I only have the civilian manual and that mentions a 'stop control cylinder' which bolts to the pump on the later Perkins built engines which includes the DROPS but not the RAF ones. It is controlled by a normally open electro pneumatic switch fitted behind the instrument panel and uses air pressure to operate the stop lever, switching the key switch on closes the air supply to the stop lever.
  19. The two Foden recoveries and the reconditioned Foden axles please.
  20. Has anyone got a copy of the latest tender, I forgot to download it? Do they still offer the facility of being able to buy one of a number of identical items should your bid be the highest for any in the group?
  21. <so rang my local Ivor Williams dealer> Bernard, Ivor was a steam engine, the trailer manufacturer is Ifor:-D.
  22. Have you tried Dave Walker from the Scammell Register, he had some made for the Highwayman which might be the same?? 07860 959878
  23. Many were broken up for the engines which ended up powering junks in places like Singapore, the AEC engines were mainly cast iron and could be cooled by seawater without having to use a heat exchanger. Others were converted for use as fuel bowsers for construction projects such as the A14.
