  1. This was in our local paper the other week (in the letter's section, hence the title!) and have just got around to scanning it in. Thought it may be of interest.
  2. Thanks for the extra information. By the sounds (and looks) of it your photo's deserve a thread of their own.
  3. Interesting photo's indeed FEC and sorry as I'm about togo off topic. I always find photo's like this interesting to see what is going on in thebackground. In these ones we can see DUKW hulls on stilts, a DUKW with wheelsstill attached and also a Leyland Martian. Can you go into any more detail about these FEC? If so might be worth startinga separate thread. PS Andy - Good to see you are cracking on with the project again!
  4. Would also just like to say well done Paul. Missed the first show but have been in attendance thereafter and have always been impressed. Will be there once again in 2012 and it is well worth a visit for anyone that hasn't been before. Keep up the good work! Scott
  5. One of the ones which has been photographed and posted on this thread is now for sale: http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/large_image.php?ad=60241&cat=4

    Slow running

Saying that it just timed out when I went to open another thread and I couldn't open another thread when I clicked on it. :nut:

    Slow running

I was just about to post to say thanks as it seems to be running much better today (touch wood) but then clicked the reply button and it froze. However opened a new tab and the home page loaded quickly and have managed to navigate through to here pretty quickly, compared with previous days.

    Slow running

Still extremely slow for me to load the home page, inside doesn't seem as bad as it was. Lost a post the other day through it as like others it locked up and I had to restart.
  9. From 9.45 in on this video there is some good footage of a RAF Land Rover, Alvis Salamander and Thornycroft Nubian: http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/204879
  10. Got sent this video the other day, thought it may be of interest to others: http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/204879
  11. Just found these out from a wet Kemble Rally I went to in 2004.
  12. Here is one which I saw a couple of times last year:
  13. Very nice, let's hope it's gone to a good home.
  14. A package arrived this morning which I'm assuming (well I know it is as it says on the package ) is FRITUUR ZORRO ll. Must say I'm really impressed with the speed of delivery as only ordered it on Sunday afternoon. Just got to wait now until December 25th before I can start to read it though.
  15. No mate, this one has been owned by the same person since 1947 after being brought from a surplus sales. It was restored in the late 1990's early 2000's.
  16. Ordered my copy yesterday for Christmas. This led me to reach out the first book and read back through it again. A great book and well worth the money.
  17. Looking forward to seeing this project progress. This one below is owned by a gentleman from Wiltshire and was taken at the Great Dorset Steam Fair in 2010, was also there this year.
  18. Five Oshkosh HET's with Warrior's onboard coming down the M1 by Chesterfield at 1pm yesterday.
  19. A link to the thread which they were mentioned on is here Tony: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?27229-Upcoming-Auction The Mack was back up for sale recently on eBay following the sale.
  20. I suppose not a surprise in today's day and age, with people cashing in. Also the site where they are kept, despite being on an A road, is pretty much ideal for something like this to happen.
  21. Looks like it didn't then, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MACK-6X6-RIGID-TRUCK-CLASSIC-/270855809920?pt=UK_Commercial_Trucks&hash=item3f1043ab80. I had read elsewhere that the same buyer had brought all three machines. Oh yeah you have probably seen it Edd but the Unipower is on the sellers other items.
  22. Can't help you with that but I know that the former Billy Smarts Mack sold for £1950 and both the Reo's sold for £1350 each from what I have read elsewhere.
  23. Thanks for the extra info on the vehicle. I have never seen it out and about again, let's hope it's being looked after somewhere! Scott
  24. As I have said on other threads I have recently found some pictures which I thought I had lost. Included in the set were these from a very wet Belvoir Castle show that no one will ever forget who was there to see it! This Militant came in the entrance and departed pretty quickly after the show had been called off early on the Sunday morning. However it first had to come to the aid of it's stricken mate.
