  8. same as k9. complete engine will fit might be easier to replace whole thing
  9. are you fitting the correct voltage coil. If it for use with a ballast resister it will be a 9v coil and will overheat very quickly, a coil off most late 50s early 60s cars ie. mini 1100 ect will work but not escort viva ect these had a resister. Try an old spares dealer as they understand the problem. best of luck.

  14. I had one of these complete with 1750 gall tanker reg no 80yy75 1940. It had a large ceramic master switch on the engine cover opposite the starter cable. I owned it for about 15 years, it was in the film enigma. Last I heard of it Pete Gaine owned it. If I can be of any assistance with info let me know.
  15. I would love this for my display how much would you be looking for?
  16. If you had a tilt and hoops on how could you use the crane?
  17. While the head is off try to flush out the cyld block. Silt collects around the rear cyld liner you may be able to poke around inside the block with a piece of stiff wire. This can help with keeping the water flowing to the rear of the engine.
  18. Only fill the radiator so it just covers the fins. If you overfill the water gets pushed out and once flowing just seems to keep on emptying. The radiator cap do's not have a rubber seal but seals on the brass surface of the cap. My old QL and OXC threw its water out if I overfilled but was never a problem if I kept the water low. A thermostat in the system seemed to make it worse, I never had one fitted for this reason,
  19. If anyone knows where I can get a set of the old green combats any size to buy. please let me know. I need them for a display. Thanks.
