  2. All those nice un-self powered pieces of military hardware and no Military Vehicle to tow them with of his own! , It can only be a matter of time until he either is consumed by the DARK SIDE or those that talk of the great PW side . There will come a time when the choice will be made!!!! Till then Welcome , and can you point that artillery piece away from my bedroom window , like a nice Lad.]
  3. It is gear driven , if you look down thru the comments posted area
  4. sorry I got confused after reading #4 4. Engineering plant and plant not being engineering plant, which is movable plant or equipment being a motor vehicle or trailer (not constructed to carry a load) especially designed and constructed for the special purposes of engineering operations and I thought the tax code in my country was difficult to understand . Not picking on any one just agreeing how hard it is to understand things
  5. have not a clue , I m seeing a completely blank area in fv1620 first post ? yes what ever the failur was its ok now . I see a weird barrel shaped object .........would seem to me that there is a large object above the barrel might it be a weight and this be some kind of drop test device?
  6. was the conning tower offset on the other sub as well? were they a set?
  7. very interesting on the track cutting both explosive and gas torch best bit was the second fellow saying if he had to do it again he'd get some other sap to do it LOL .
  8. True one most be willing to go slowly and mark their progress in small steps . I can understand the flat panels being straight foreward but there must be some bending of reinforcements too? do you have a local body shop or metal fabrication shop that can custom make those parts for you at a reasonable price ? I m thinking that would be simpler than a gas torch vice and pipe .
  9. not having seen the photo's I have another blind stab at a guess....is the offset caused by a deck hatch required for a sub based missile launcher
  10. A very Happy Birthday to you , Pete
  11. I m so sorry I think I got that wrong it might have been you put Jeeps in to keep the Dodges dry then you can drive over the lot with a Jimmie , Of course the Ward la France or Mack's or Hippo's ( my gosh those are huge) then top the pile until the Armour gets involved :-D   Some one else will have to work out the pecking order to include all the MV's someday .
  12. YIKES the dang metal munching worms have been busy !!! I guess trying to find donor cabs in any better condition is not possible ?or even parts of cab's for that matter . My Hats off to you . thats some project
  13. welcome there is always time to decide on a new tou . as for the spelling there's an easy fix for most of the mistakes just use the spell check at the bottom of the page . I m very sure your not the only one with spelling problems  on the other hand your Danish is far better than mine!
  14. if the conning tower is shifted above deck and the reason is not above deck then something below deck must be taking up the space and offsets the weight of the conning tower , I d guess a weapons system .
  15. Looks pretty good to me , If your thinking it beyond saving :dunno: I ll find a place for it over here . of course I would'nt do it to yours but I have heard those are good to put in puddles to keep the bottom of Jimmies dry  :-D
  16. A great and lucky find to stumble across , does any one know who's HMV's were there being filmed yet ? shame the film makers didnt get even more MV's to add more to the scene...... vehicles dashing about and so on , who needs actors when you can get lots of great WW2 vehicles !!!
  17. Seems this thread will be well used as each has had some near death experience , some nearer than others!!!!!As I read some time ago that experience is a tough teacher she TESTS before she teaches!!!!!
  18. Thank you for the details on the helmet construction I had not heard about before. To continue on the medic issue Didn't the German Medics also wear a white smock or what ever you call it with a red cross on it front and back ? and didn't they carry side arms as well ?
  19. Happy Birthdays to all and may you have many many More!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :dancinggirls: :dancinggirls:
  20. If the deposits were bad enough you would get a pre ignition engine knock or pinging which would rob you of power.of course in a older engine by that I mean one with lots of miles on it you might also have very worn valves , to check for that you could do a compression test on the cylinders and see if you have only one or more cylinders that are no long doing anything useful.
  21. True and a good supply of new mantles is a Must, and if happiness is to continue a bit of fuel , or do you use kerosene ? or other . over here it was white gas , or Coleman fuel , some states completely band Kerosene as a way to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning from kerosene space heaters. You should post a few of your rarer examples , I know I d be interested to see the verity.
  22. Your right about that ! what happened to it since then ?
  23. I m not up on helmet details what does the location of the seam indicate ? ww2 and post war I m guessing . which is which :thankyou:
