  1. I was replying to your post, hence the quote.
  2. Hi Drew, I am very familiar with Ferret hub inner workings and would say that you should stick to EP90 gear oil, as there are a lot of needle roller bearings in the hubs and oil will flow through them better. I can see no reason to go to a semi-fluid grease in this application. regards, Richard
  3. Hi Mate, These are special studs that are welded in place to the face of the metal.
  4. Hi Diane and Jackie, Go for it ! Remove all cap screws from face of cap and remove cap, no other parts effected, the ring gear is retained by some more cap screws, so you will not disturb that joint. Don't use silicone, Hylomar is what we always used when they were in service. regards, Richard
  5. Thanks, that was my next move. just wondered if anyone had any of the army publications (AESP) for the machine.
  6. Does anyone know where a workshop manual and parts list can be found for an ex-British Army JCB 410M forklift? It should be in AESP format. Even a CD would be of help. This is to help out a guy in Belgium who has one and his local JCB dealer is unwilling to help him. regards, Richard
  7. Hi Tony, The "T" looks good, will catch up with you at Beltring no doubt. regards Richard (another one of the 30 year Vets)
  8. Tony, think you best stick to bus driving and not technical advisor :n00b:
  9. Really ???? Then why is it that the headlight glasses are marked for left or right hand dip? The headlamp unit for a RB44 is listed as either LH dip/RH drive, or RH dip/LH drive, as I said, it is the glass that is different.
  10. Have you checked the pre-load on front swivels?
  11. A Junkers ........ not seen one of those flying for some years.
  12. Normally a lot larger than 5/16" though ! The bolts that hold the canopy rails to hoops on Bedford MK, etc were about what you are looking for, Andy
  13. Hi Ian, You sent me an email via HMVF, to which I replied to. Sorry about the spams, that should have been sorted out by now, not heard from anyone else if it is still happening, it came from the address of someone who was on the forum at one time. I may be able to help you out with gearbox parts, please send me a private message and i will respond on a different email address. Richard
  14. Ian, I replied to your message last week, regarding gearbox parts, not had a reply yet. If you are interested, I may just be able to help you here. Your gear cluster is the layshaft one by looks of it. Let me know if you still need the parts. Richard
  15. thats because it is turbo charged, put one on your Pioneer and there will be no holding it back ...... nor stopping it come to think of it
  16. As the project was named White Rabbit, but machine was called Nellie, perhaps it should have been Project White Elephant ........... Nellie the Elephant ................. I'll get me coat
  17. Hi Hoppy, That is the correct grade, EP90, but a bit more expensive than going to a motor factor or agricultural dealer.
  18. I was also wondering about that, as when I was overseas, and looking at the forum, the ads were all for local businesses there, so wondered how it was all paid for. So, it is all through Google then.
  19. Back in March I was at a military vehicle event in Australia and met a chap called Paul, with a Champ, from Queensland. He told me he would be at Evesham .......... not with Champ though.
  20. Andy, About 17 years ago i rebuilt the tailboard of my Bedford, with a hardwood, one of the tropical types, unusual name, i used one of those silver wood primers, then undercoat, gloss and final semi mat. i has never bubbled or lifted in all that time.
  21. Rick, The sky blue square would indicate Royal Engineers, and with it being an AVRE, that fits in.
  22. ???? A bit long for an MJ I would think, the standard ISO containers are normally 20 ft long :n00b:
