  1. Seems a shame now. So many Series one were cut about for off roaders, back in the days when normal people could afford to do off roading as a sport. :-(
  2. The BAT M might go down well with some of the building contractors round here!
  3. Welcome in. Munga owners are considered quite unusaual. And thats by our standards! :shake:
  4. Your lucky mate! I picked mine up........ on the day the fuel supplies went dry! Welcome to the best club in the world The Dodge WC owners club. The first time you take her out in the rain, and forget the Dodge Douche, you'll be christned. See you around, Europe, The Channel Islands, all over UK. :-D Remember to check the handbake is fully off! The smoke obscures the windscren. :n00b:
  5. Thanks for info, I'll give Steve a ring see what he has. There is the slight problem of the English Channel bettween me and the vehicle, so service work does need a bit of planning.
  6. BAD LUCK, MATE! Bus and coach drivers spend 99% of their time avoiding accidents other people are out to cause. Which bit of thirty odd foot long, up to fourteen feet high and ten foot wide don't people see? I reckon some drivers are missing the gene that lets them see a bus.
  7. Thanks Gordon! :n00b:A quick trip through a friend's scrap box has produced a reducing blank and an airline fitting that replaces the top plug nicely. The plan is to get an ordinary resovoir and fit discretly. The other beauty is it will allow a presure bleeder to be used. The cylinder is off to Past parts as soon as I can. I'll keep everyone up to date. I'll lay good money as soon as the new master goes on the wheel cylinders will leack.
  8. The original idea of the Quilion was to trap the blade of the oppositions bayonet, then breack it. The British bayonet was longer than most contemparies as the rifle was shorte. It was expensive to manufacturer and caught on everything in sight. The design was modified and all existing stocks the quillion was removed, hence there rarity. Would be worth trying to find a couple of sheaths.
  9. Just got back from Jersey. Katy the WC54 over there has been stationary for eighteen months due to illness, so went over to run her. Did all the checks, everything free, got her running , went to move. A bit of a binding. So a bit of revs and BANG, she moved, but no brakes!! I've got the master cylinder off, and it looks like the last man who saw it was the one that built it. Anyway that will be off for rebuild, but as all Dodge owners know, the American genius let themselves down when the sited the Damn thing! Does anyone know if there is a remote resivoir available, or has anyone cobbled one?
  10. Best advice if your near London, take them to the National Army Museum, they will advise.
  11. Hey Darren, you didn't say you were on the ROCK! Just got back from srvicing the WC54, see other post for nightmare! I've also seen the long bonneted Bedford Airport Ambulance a few times running around South London, still in full colours, she looks well. I know the Nubian you menat, they also had the Unimog and the Range Rover's.
  12. Welcome, you are likley to have a lot on memebers knocking on the door introducing themselves in person.
  13. Turn GAIN down or Volume, cover microphones with a spong wind deadener.
  14. There was a company in Pewsey Wiltshire years ago running MK as overland expedition vehilces. They brought them back for service in UK during the winter. There advice was let all the nuts rust during winter, better than any loctite, the roads will shake anything loose. They also had a strengthened roll cage over the cab with a cross piece to which an engine hoist could be attached. Aparently that was very useful for serviceing on the road.
  15. I think they are Mastiffs, is the Theatre kit ie the spaced bar armour etc fitted over there?
  16. While it's still hanging on (like most of use) it's a DRIP. When it falls off it's a DROP , Simpliesss. The other definition of an EXPERT, a DRIP under pressure so ad some EXPERTS next time!
  17. That and Land Rover employing plumbers to do the job. The 101 wiring is a nightmare. I'd start by checking the six way switch, notorious **** for going wrong. You have my full and total sympathy. :coffee:
  18. Having just got back from Jersey on the ferry, the crossing was quite rough! :cool2: I'm suprised they even let it board.
  19. Still trying to find fuel lines for an Onan if anyone knows? Or where I can get the female fitting to the fuel glass, than I'll stick my own pipe on.
  20. Welcome Robert, what part of Belgium are you in?
  21. Might be unleaded fuel. Do you use an additive?
  22. If they are British, with the Qullion hook. then they are rare, most were cut off. Can you post pictures? The 1907 pattern is shorter blade.

    thefts

thats where a small engraving tool comes in useful.:cool2: All my kit is marked discretly with a random set of numbers. Point is, I know where they are and what they are.
