  1. OR if the coat drops? :dancinggirls:
  2. I thought that military kit was 'relocated' within the army, on the grounds if the original owner can A Find it B Prove it was theirs , C can, if the new owner doesen't manage to move it again first , get it back.
  3. Tim, can you afford the fur coat?
  4. Oh a dream come true!!!:trustme: Funny enough if the thing is fitted with more than 16 seats, yes, I could drive it. TheBendy bus, otherwise known as the Swan Vesta, are strictly a tractor unit and trailer.:banana:
  5. Beats Gnomes by a long shot!! :-D Actually Gnomes do make very staisfying targets.
  6. The only way is the hard way. Check the circuit for the headlamp bulb has any live connection . Unfortunatley the dashboard wiring on most British MV's was designed by a blind plumber. Check permenat powered leads, which lights should have, for alead that has frayed or come close to another lead, and clean all the contacts grime can cause power to leack, The problem is proably the six way light switch, that has to be the worst single component ever designed for British MV's.
  7. Is there any paint that can also help preserve the manifold? 101 manifiolds are notourious and b**dy expensive.
  8. Does spraying always give a superior finish? The Dulux stuff will spray as well. I'll lay good money most miltary vehicles at some time in thier lives end up with a yard brush finish. The military reason for paint is Preservation, then prensentation. A lot of WW2 vehicles have a wood component, if as mine is it is used for Living history and re-enactment a load of bodies in boots and various bits of kit chucked in the back, the Dulux gives a good colour match to original, hard finish and easy touch up.
  9. Much as I hate to say tghe H.. Word. Halford's Proffesional range, I've used and abused the same set for years. Great set of kit.
  10. Bit hard to call her a prostritute. Mistress to many maybe. I think you are beliving the press. Don't forget the story that at her execution she requested a fur coat, and when the rifles were aimed, dropped it to show herself nacked. Wonder where the rounds went? The Drefus affair wasn't that old at the time. The Army in France held a position of public acclaim and political clout. This was being seriously undermined at the time, the French Army being in a state of mutiny. Anything to try and restore crediability by the Franch Military hierachy would not be unthinkable.
  11. I've found that a damm good vehicle paint is Dulux Wethersheild Metal! The colour centre can match any shade you take in, so I did an old trailer that I wanted to look 'Faded',Satin finish , hard as nails easy to clean, reminds me of the old Blackfriar's Tractor Enamel.
  12. :-D Start saving the pennies? :cool2:
  13. The Pig man at College Pete Mountain was ex RAF, he'd driven the Karriers with trailer fore and aft. Watching him reverse trailers was poetry in motion, and made us snotty students sick.
  14. Welcome, the ever growing Northern section will be along soon, just get in plenty of Custard Creams.
  15. Welcome in , take off the jacket, no hangars I'm afraid, they keep getting used to fish for lost tempers down the back of variuous MV's. :argh: There got it! :-D
  16. Don't worry their filling the tub now , heating the tar and collecting the feathers for when you hit 3,000. It will all be ready.:cool2:
  17. Making a point of Never going to bed on the same day you got up.
  18. 65 hairs now re-grown (Note: Industrial strength Grecian Two Thousand needed) :iloveyou:
  19. I have seena Fiat x16 trying to tow a horse box! :shake: For those of a younger age, think of a two seater Smart sports car. There are a lot of good cheap older Range Rovers going around the £400, one of those with a trailer limited milage.
  20. Maybe they decided it was a bit impractical to 'Conceal' :-D Be intresting to know where you'd be able to find a range cleared for six miles.
  21. There are new exhaust protections available, used on custom cars, they also keep the metal cool.
  22. Bear in mind at the time, communication was limited to line of sight. Each Admiral had thier own flag. Each division had its own Admiral, so you needed to know where they were to watch for flag signals relevant to your division. Hence the term 'Flagship'.
  23. Try walking into a room full of American Girls and say 'I'm dying for a fag'.:red:
