  1. As already mentioned , there has been some disquiet over the organisation. However 'Under New Management'. It's one of the best grounds in Kent to hold an event, so hopefully the Phonix effect will occur. :-D
  2. Andy it was never intended to be a vehicle show. It is a multi period living history re-enactors show. The vehicles are props in the scenarios.
  3. The Local Defence Volunters , later Home Gaurd was considered part of the obligatory service for those to YOUNG or old to join the forces, or those in reserved occupation. ARP, mostly women, and firewatching also counted. My Farther as he had Mine Rescue training was in the Heavy Rescue Squad.
  4. How about, asking Dave what a coach hire might be? We could all meet in UK, then have independent transport,
  5. Watch the grin with no windscreen. Flies are fatening!
  6. Katy now has her own nose art. Finished yesterday by a friend of mine. :-D
  7. Nice to see cars being restored. I've recently learnt the joys of driving a 1939 Wolsely, grin even thinking about it.
  8. Why stop at the V1? The V3 site is not that far away from Calais.
  9. YEP!! in a 'supporting role' , the kettle the bar etc. The 10th Essex Great War group are constructing something, but /I'd have to kill you if I told you. Suffice to say, bring ear plugs, the earth should move! :cool2:
  10. Danish Cavalary, the only ones who use all Snaffle bits.
  11. I have used AVG free for years never a problem. (Touch wood) I also pay for and use the AVG PC tune up, that makes a tremendous diffrence to speed.
  12. Welcome, you've obviously already found your section of the club house bar! :-D
  13. Probably same points of view. But keep banging the drum! One redeemed sinner etc. :-D
  14. A very raw nerve! As Andy Robertshaw said to me on the Somme' Take the artifacts you kill the man twice. There is no chance of identfying a person'. That is why when you walk the Western Front, or any battlefeild. Walk gently, you don't know who you are treading on'. A few years back around local boot sales a, well leave the descriptions, was selling rusty helmets, he claimed there were the reamins of hair etc still inside. If this happned in a cemetery there would be uproar, yet some people boast of having obtained such artifacts.
  15. Wonderful description! NO PICTURES!!! :angry 2014 is coming up you know, there must be stuff out back wants sorting.
  16. Thanks Guys! Important thing it has a nice pivoting towing eye , so is easy to tow behind the Dodges. Would there have been over run brakes? And if so has anyone an illustration of the mechanism? The idea is to kit the WC54 as a permenat display and stuf fthe camping gear in the trailer.
  17. I've just aquired this British 1 ton, G.S. Trailer. So , the plates have been lost, any idea who made it? And, am I right the hitch should be below the A plate?
  18. Thanks! I have been up to Bister to get a trailer for her. I'll post the pictures later. Temprature has hit 32 degress. Combines going like the clappers, but cluding over now.
  19. It comes with age mate! :-D Summer finally has decided to show up for a few days. I was working on Katy yesterday outside. The body was getting to hot to touch.
