  1. Steve is absolutley right. How many vehicles even at ten to fifteen years old are 'Original'? Parts will have benn replaced maybe some body work repaired repalced with pattern parts. Any Military vehicle is a working vehicle, it's purpose is to serve the men in the feild. It will be subject to abuse no rich man's plaything would ever meet. My question is , would the original designers recognise it and would the fitters be able to work on it? If so it is original as any vehicle can be. My WC54 has several sixty year old body repairs. Sheets cut to fit over damage , drilled and screwed on. That's how it was done, to spend a fortune and retore to Haut Concores would be like injecting Botox, a lot of pain and difficulty to pander to others desire. Dents lumps and bumps are part of vehicles history.
  2. The Royal Dockyard at Chatham have Ocelot, the last boat built at Chatham in 1962. There has been a recent refit to celebrate her 50th Birthday. Not that I'm name dropping (Moi! Would I do that? ) But I filmed a piece to camera with Graham Lays the BBC Antique Road Show Militiari Expert with Katy, yesterday alongside HMS Gannet at Chatham. As a kid the O Boats used to excersise around the Channel Island's. You'd be out in St Aubin's Bay and this large black submarine would suddenly appear, then about ten minutes later just dissappear.
  3. Is 'Fifty shades of Grey' published in Dutch then?
  4. Dosen't seem to make sense. How would you get it along trenches? It wouldn't run in the trench, and you certainly wouldn't want to go above the trench line.
  5. Security was taken seriously. Your Gran obviously stands by the oath she took not to divulge. A gallant Lady from the sound of it.
  6. I now losen or remove plugs, since seeing the result of a battery explosion. A friend bought a brand new, sealead battery for an electric fence. Fortunatley he was charging it in his shed when the thing blew up. There was no vent on the batery, and he needed a new shed.
  7. Thiose poor old resovoirs were used for everything from testing FIDO to de gaussing ship and ASDIC experiments. At one stage it was even proposed to use them for transatlantic flying boats, but we got Heathrow instead.
