  1. The tow hitch is identical to mine internally. I can tell you they strip completly down. As for the U bolts, I'd check with a micrometer and if any area is more than about 25 % thin, ditch them.
  2. Anyone konow the code or where I can get a new points set for a BSA charging set? Mine seem to work when they want to. Also how do you time the beasts?
  3. Not that daft, the idea did work, though maybe not practical.
  4. There is an epsiode of History of the Gun on Youtube that has a Royal Enfeild with a Thompson mounted, that is used in action.
  5. If we are going non military http://www.ayresfineart.co.uk/gallery/country/across-the-moor.jpg Devon and Somerset Bitch pack hind hunting at Whitstones above Porlock, Feruary 1975. The rider on the bay horse is Gerald Kyle the whip on Callie, the chestnut horse is Peter Cox's Jim, and the reason I know. I'm riding him.
  6. Nice vehicle, Tillys seem to be the upcoming vehicle. They are reasonable cost to run and use and easy to store. Must say I'd like that one myself.
  7. In Jersey at one time the vehicle was counted on unladen weight at registration, nothing mentioned about gross weights. :cool2: It was common practice to cut bits off, strip out everything inculding the windscreen wipers , then get it weighed. After that put everything back! Them were the days!
  8. Be fair to mine, the only stopping problem I've ever had was down to a loose wire on the ignition switch.
  9. Actually! Those of us trusted with C1 normally have C1+E as well. With various 'pressure groups' jumpimg on the road transport and vehicle bandwagons, what hope have you of getting it all correct?
  10. Another one what was the temprature outside? Mine started those tricks a few weeks back in very hot weather. A shot of octane booster cured it. I invested in an electronic ignition, best modification ever.
  11. When I was at MOD Main Building, part of the job was to check the political offices. The artwork on the wall was superb, it was a pleasure to do the job. However, to be awkward, my favourite was a staute, a huge pice about three foot long and similar height in bronze of a 1848 Nizza Cavalaryman as his horse was going down. Stunning piece full of action.http://militaria.forum-xl.com/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=1866
  12. Nothing wrong with the 6 volt if they are properly loked after! The Ambulance WC54 does have a roof and a heater, and wind down windows! Now if I can just sort the *** vacum wipers out. :-D On the other hand the WC51 wepaons carrier does have through draught ventilation, and is great, in summer.
  13. Welcome in. Be prepared for buns flying acros sthe Club House bar when you make any choice. Someone will tell you'd be better off with..... The answer is Go Dodge!
  14. Certain bits of the Chorhorse and the BSA set will interchange. Mine is a Chorhorse but the plate with points and condenser was taken of a BSA and bolted on to the Chorehorse engine, and yes it does work!
  15. Well it certainly won't float! :-D
  16. The Signals museum at Blanford would be wetting themselves over it!
  17.:shocked::shocked: A rare beast! A very rare beast. It would have carried a HRO reciver with a cross areil. Inside should be a sterring wheel attached to the bottom of the antenna and a brass 360 deg. ring. I know Phil Webb has illustrations of the fittings, he was intending to build a replica one.
  18. It WAS leallet DVLA INF 52. Though as usual DVLA website is doing it's own thing!
