  1. The Guards depot is still operational, cant drive past there anymore, road is closed to the public
  2. The range has NOT been accessible for many years now owing to nearby housing development, unless you want to risk scaleing the high perimiter barbed wire topped fence, not really advisable as it is the overspill area for the Bisley rifle ranges, and Pirbright camp ranges, red warning flags are permanently flying, odd security patrols drive the perimeter track, plus live firing, anti tank & mortar still takes place there, very little of interest is left now, non is viewable from outside of the fence This is the most famous wreck recovered from this area, the Jagpanther
  3. On Ebay ,the 1945 test report on the armoured tracked Jeep http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CANADIAN-ARMOURED-TRACKED-JEEP-MK-I-REPORT-1945_W0QQitemZ230441633070QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Books_NonFictionBooks_NonFictionBooks_SM?hash=item35a764452e

  7. I met Duncan couple of years ago, he was shipping some vehicles to Australia, including one of mine, a very enthusiastic and nice guy, does all the purchasing and import/export himself, knows his way around the paperwork, I would certainly reccomend him
  8. The rare Morris PU 4X4 was sold to the Bastogne museum, I went on several trips with Jeff delivering MV's to the museum including the Humber Hexanaut
  9. Well spotted, yes you are right, the tracked Jeep belonged to Mr Dinley of Bapty & Co, the film company armourers, it made an appearance at one of John Carters early MV rallies, dont know what happened to it then. I visited the yard about the time the films were shot, truly amazing collection, when the yard was forced to close with planning problems a lot the vehicles were moved to Charlie Manns museum in Cornwall, then subsequently Jeff Theobold moved with some of his vehicles to Warnham to assist Joe Lyndhurst open the Warnham war museum
  10. Phanomen...granit...but its not from one, they were a 4 wheel chassis
  11. A quick check on the reference books, can't see anything similar so pretty sure its not ww2 British or American, looks like it was on a 6 wheeler chassis and joined to a crew cab? galvanised steel panels, radio van body? post war, German?
  12. More regs, eyesight test for truck drivers, will also include car drivers every 10 years http://www.pickuptrucksdirect.co.uk/automotive-pickup-truck-news/free-driver-eyesight-regulations-available.html
  13. A nice example of an M100 Dunbar Kapple from the 1950's http://www.vintagemilitarytrucks.com/M100%20Jeep%20Trailer.htm
  14. Perhaps time for a name change too, myself and others have often thought if the organisers dropped the gimicky name "Military mahem" which may I suppose attract joe public, but really conjures up ideas of some sort of commercial run paintball adventure event and thought of a name more appropriate for a Military preservation show, then just perhaps they might attract some more of the quite large local MV population along,....whats your thoughts ?
  15. and another G503 pic of a restored MB, on a Willys everything is green except the ancilleries

  19. It was built on Morris commercial 15cwt parts, chassis, axles, rear engined, MK1 4X2 MK2 4X4, the scrapyard one has had the top cut off
  20. How did he manage to do that? on a Dingo you can't accidently change the f/ward/reverse lever, you'd have to use a lot of force to engage reverse whist traveling forwards unless you hit the brakes and lock the wheels, itl be the transfer box he's damaged not the gearbox btw
  21. Using 40 year old "new" armoured plug leads can cause even more problems as the rubber naturally deteriorates inside, pull out the inner lead and replace it with new
  22. Couple of original factory pics of new M10's
