    It was all good fun then...my Range rover based racer was one previous owner, chassis number 335 long since scrapped, would have been a collectors item now

  8. You'l need to get there early as the "quiet site" is now greatly reduced in size with chalets built on it
  9. I was there too yesterday, the Cinema unit will be in the same location as last year in the living history field ..Bigger tent, bigger screen, more seats, this year, look out for us. Spoke to Barbara about the future at Beltring and she dispelled any rumours of it being the last show, apparently the new site owners want the show to continue

  12. It wasn't only British army to fit rifle clips, the screen is frame from an earlier Jeep without the gun rack brackets, it had been fitted with some crudely made tin clips fitted post war whilst in service with the Greek army, ...now been consigned to the scrap bin !

  19. I was ringing its bell too going down the A3 as passenger going back to Dennis's with said friend, its always been in Dennis ownership being the works fire engine from new in 1936 until the 1990's

They do tend to seize in the block if not moved for a while, I remember one of my first Jeeps many years ago the dizzy was seized so never had the clamp bolt in place, one day driving along the engine started running rough lost power and died on a hill...lo the distributor had freed itself and spun around twisting the plug leads up !
  21. If I had bigger storage facilities I'd certainly have some bigger toys, but Jeeps are the easiest to work on and the most practical...plus the best investment
