  1. There are lots of hangers and building on the other side of the airfield which cannot be seen. Did they have tours around the airfield this year? If you become a member of the society you get a tour where you stop off at various places. We went on top of the control tower and up a guard tower on the far side along with getting a look in several buildings. Will post some photos if people are interested in seeing what is left.
  2. We did intend to go but last year there were only a couple of vehicles, we were also tyred after a show the day before so we didnt go. Wish we did now:undecided:
  3. in that case it is probably a military piece that webtex have reproduced.
  4. I beleive that to be diferent, i have one of the ones on the link and i think they were made by webtex or some other private purchase supplier. A very useful and practical pouch though!
  5. The bit where they get the order to re-paint the tanks is a good one aswel
  6. Just been watching an old film "They were not divided" which i think is a very good film, has some great shots of Sherman tanks and other vehicles in use. can be watched here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iIqyRLJTo0
  7. Spent this afternoon making a display board for the bike. Will probably change the text at some point but im pretty pleased with it.
  8. Looked great at the weekend! Didnt fancy this?
  9. Not really sure, i have seen some which are cadet ones but not very often. I can only assume maybe it was not as strong or something or the task was given to a small clothing company to make some trousers for cadet use. The company was not up to making big batches for soldiers kit so the made limited numbers to suply cadets with. Just a guess
  10. Picked this up at the Aldham rally today, 1954 dated with 1953 dated hood. Pretty good condition with sheen. only slight loss of wool in liner, woolen cuffs ok etc Dont really know much about them but it is very warm, wore it on the way home in the jeep.
  11. Well the trousers are big if anything, the leg width is a bit large really but the waist is ok. tempted to hold onto these for now but might hit you a PM after the weekend to see what you have
  12. Picked up a nice set of 1960 pattern clothing. Jacket has been used a bit, the zip has come away unfortunately. Trousers are great condition both still have a new sheen to them. The man told me he bought them from movie stores or film set which would explain the minimal use. Just a question, what would have been worn under the jackets? would it be a green shirt, wool shirt or battledress? not really sure ( you cant tell from photos!!) Thanks:thumbsup:
  13. even i knew 3 & 4. i'm sad like that i suppose

  16. Could this be a similar one? http://www.fiftharmymobileradio.com/photos13.html
  17. Here are a couple of photos from my collection, The first shows what look like the late type and the second i think is of the vehicle they were working on. I think it is either late war or just post war, will check for writing later.
  18. Great Video. Nice to see it as it actually was, and not just how the press portrayed it.
  19. Only 2 reached reserve: £107.13 £83.15 Not including postage which i expect would not be cheap The other 3 did not reach reserve, seller must have put diferent reserves on each one ( possibly condition ) because one did not reach reserve at £89 although one at £83 did
  20. Someone has several in America on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/nichsman/m.html?hash=item1c273df131&item=120917455153&pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562
  21. I suppose it may be a case of that one of the factories ran out of the primary colour so instead of stopping production they just used whatever they could get hold of. Probably wrong but just an idea
  22. A lot of pictures look like service brown, would make sense as i believe it was standard at that time
