  1. If anyone has some spare wheels for these, they look about right for my Folding BSA :-D
  2. Just a note to add. I know of one other with a stand fitted. It belongs to Welbike UK and a stand was fitted to the Mk1 frame and possibly some other modifications. They believe that it was sent back either to the factory (and revamped/re-spayed etc) or done in a military workshop. So it could be just a useful thing that some were fitted with.
  3. Getting back stuck into the bike. I aim to get it ridable for War and Peace as it will be useful to get to see the site in a better context as long as there isn't mud like last year! Got all the steering muchanism apart, unfortunately no sign at all of original paint, looks as if it was taken right apart and completely striped before repainting in its present colour. Still on the look out for some parts including: Brake shoes (will probably end up making some) Brake springs Brake levers (if I can't find the proper type will use some vintage generic type) Handlebars Other pedel arm or proper pedels and chainwheel Wheels! Am currently using the ones it came with (wrong size but other than that pretty similar) Think that is all so far! Here are some picks from the other day, did quite a bit of cleaning today.
  4. Hi Alex Many thanks for the info on the wheels, will have to keep an eye out of ebay and at autojumbles etc. Regarding the number of teeth I found some pictures of some that were for sale (originals with the fold-in pedels) and that has 46 teeth. Last week I have forgotten to mention I got one which would have been from a civvy bike and is missing one arm. Anyway it too has 46 teeth so I will find another arm and use this most likely.
  5. Haven't had the time to be on it a lot recently but am still looking for wheels. I don't suppose anyone could let me know how many spokes are on each wheel? Also how many teeth the pedel crank has? Just looking for old BSA bicycles that have a similar or the same wheels. I think the wheel size is more important for me at the moment in comparison to number of spokes.
  6. Denisons are expensive enough as they are!
  7. Its been a while sinse i've put anything on here, truth is we haven't done a lot to it! It was decided that a few few oil leaks needed to be tended to and a general inspection including removal of the sump.
  8. Got theses with a lot of other items thought i'd share. Potentially up for sale if anyone was particularly interested. But would also like to know so info if anyone knows anything about them. P 76mm ARMDC SX 122 GE LOT 743 RLB 3/98 B2587 C H
  9. New parts arived today. New brakes with thanks to a forum member. Also got a new seat from ebay. Brooks B17.
  10. Thanks for the info. The ones I have at the moment are 26 x 1 1/4. I suppose at least they are similar to get by with for now
  11. Looks like a great project with a good history!
  12. Many thanks for the photos! Now i know the headstock is mostly correct and probably need to take a bit more care taking it apart now. Thanks again
  13. Thanks for all the advice so far! Slowly coming apart, havn't been able to get the headstock apart as of yet as it requires a BSA tool to undo. My main concern at the moment is wheels. I do not think the ones i have are originals. Does anyone know if they had standard BSA wheels? Or at least what size they are.
  14. Picked this up at the local car boot today for £2! Has "Falkland Islands" engraved and a map of the falklands, also below that "To CPL Clive Cooper, The Lamb Chop Tour, 2nd Mar - 5th Sep 98". Falklands coinage is also stuck to the top. Unfortunately someone has spilt wax over the front, wont take a lot to clean but a bit anoying as it will still show up unless completely cleaned. The case is dated 1980 and the coinage varies in date. Dont suppose anyone knows anything about the Lamb Chop Tour in 1998?
  15. Thanks for the info. I checked out Battledress and Bayonet but it seems they mainly have the finer detail products like handlebar grips and transfers. The Colin MacGregor Stevens site is very good! Unfortunately all the pages work except for his "Parts" page which would have been very useful As you say i may be able to make do with some vintage bike hanlebars and fabricate a T bolt. Wheels seem to be my big problem at the moment. I dont fancy buying new tyres and tubes as i think the current wheels are too narrow. Would rather just buy tyres and tubes for the proper ones.
  16. I don't mind :-D , it s interesting to hear about other peoples and about the accessories. I think the carrier is low on my priorities at the moment, as you could probably guess the handlebars, wheels, brakes etc are more of a priority :-D . But interesting to know the carriers are still available, will have to keep an eye out at some shows this year.
  17. Sounds good. If you need any engine parts i recommend Villiers Services. They have virtually every villiers part. They had everything i needed for my welbike and they know pretty much everything to do with the engines. Also the prices are surprisingly good. http://www.villiersservices.co.uk/ Ignor their online catalogue, it is only a fraction of what they have.
  18. Many thanks for the advice. I'll have to just keep an eye out on ebay but i can start with what i've got. In guessing they were either Service Brown or OD. What colour did you use?
  19. Just picked this up today. Have been after this one for several months and finally got hold of it. No it wasn't a bargain but i do like it. Needs a lot of work, a lot has been replaced but was a practical local find and what is left isnt in too bad a condition. Handlebars are the main thing that are wrong as the rest i can work around. Pedals, seat, brakes, sprocket are wrong. Not sure about the wheels. I think the front wheel may be wrong as it is made by "Phillips" which i havnt headrd from beeing on any others. Havent had time to look at the rest in detail. A few photos below. If anyone has or knows where i can get parts i would really appreciate it.
  20. A few pics of the EAFVG heavy vehicle run as asked. Unfortunately i only saw them off
  21. Many thanks to John Blackman for the 6 page feature in this months Classic Military Vehicle magazine!
  22. You may well be right, i know it is not original to the bike and was put on later in a restoration but not really sure if it is correct or not. From pictures i have seen you are probably right as i can't see anything like it. But it does the job for now!
  23. Looking at the pictures closer it actually looks like it was a very dark green. This is the bike in ownership of someone else showing it in possibly original paint: http://projects.huybregts.be/#7.0 Below is what it looks like at the moment (not yet running).
