  1. I will try to dig mine up sometime, i remember that the tapes had started to peel. I bought it off a person who said that it was a special forces jacket, looking at it i was not sure that it was because it didnt look very military. I paid a stupidly low price for it and though it would be handy for something, i used it last year on my pup tent as it is only the half closed type. Done the job very well, could easily have been nicked on many occasions!
  2. Really? I bought a jacket one at the car boot last year cheap and used it in the jeep, are they worth anything then?
  3. Last year we purchased a second contract 1942 Ford GPW. We are not doing the restoration in one go but doing bits as we go along. It is a great jeep which has been quite reliable over the last year. It has some early parts which were only featured in this contract. We do not know much history of this jeep apart from that it was bought to England in 1987 and was aprently restored and used in the film memphis belle ( if you believe the story). Over the winter a few problems have creeped up, we need to replace the water pump and replace an oil seal and whatever else crops up.
  4. Mine is just an old photograph of a british soldier on a welbike
  5. A useless bit of additional information, the rear brake that was supplied to me from Welbike UK i believe is original instead of being new which is a nice addition, you can see the marking on the brake arm, before painting you could also see that the brake looked sandblasted rather than just cut. Probably the only place you can get original welbike parts
  6. Smock is size 6, trousers size 1? ( lable faded) and hood size 1
  7. Picked up a 68patt Smock, Trousers and hood all for £4 today at the car boot also got a 1990's? aircrew jacket for £3 Green one side and reverses to a reflective orange.
  8. Have been at it again today, hopefully this will be the last of the spraying but will only be able to tell once the part have dried. Had to dodge the weather again occasionally by covering them up until it stopped raining and then resuming after the rain stopped. Sprayed the engine and other smaller parts aswel. It was all done in the correct Service Brown colour that is correct for my contract. The parts look great now they are all painted up and am starting to look forward to getting it running. Now the painting is out of the way there is not a lot to do so it should be ready for Bunker Bash next month.
  9. Both last saturday and today i have been spray painting, often haiving to cover the bits quickly after there was a short bit of rain and then continuing. Taking a long time but will be worth it. Hopefully tommorow will be a nicer day and i can get a good lot done.

  14. I think i may know. I have what might be a later type. Is it for documenting or marking out supplys for wagons. Top left: British army, date, From (consignor or station) Top right: to (consignee or destination) Bottom left: No of wagons in consignment. and on the bottom right does it have space for: wagon number, Weight of contents- tons/cwts. At the bottom does it say " To be used for FORWARD traffic only" Or something similar
  15. Is the manual: Instructions for Movement Control - Overseas in war
  16. Its home made, we borrowed a mini digger and used plywood sheeting to get it cemented bit by bit.
  17. Almost finished our "jeep shed" which we have been building over the winter so that we can do some proper work on the jeep under shelter. The pit too a long time to build but it will be worth it. We are yet to do the ceiling insulation and some other bits but we drove the jeep in today so that we can start work asap ready for Bunker Bash (havn't started the jeep sinse december, started first time!). As you can see the jeep needs a good clean, the cold winter outside hasnt helped with the paintwork!
