  8. For the past week and a bit i have been sand blasting everything down. I have pitted the chromed parts enough so that the primer should stick. Today was spent priming the parts. Used acid etching primer which seemed to work well. It certainly looks a lot better now.

  16. I believe that these were the standard binoculars used during ww2. I have seen them both in leather cases (marked as Binoculars no2 case mk1) and canvas cases (possibly binoculars no2 case mk2?). I have heard that they were used by the RAF but they were issued to the Army and other similar forces for use on the field as they could attach to webbing. They often had canvas neck straps but some may have been leather.
  17. Got all the parts i need now to get going again. Welbike UK were extremely helpful, the parts are of an outstanding and accurate quality. They know everything there is to know about the bikes and how every single part works and fits. Most pieces are hand made to fit perfectly and as per the original specification. They fitted all my parts so slack was down to a minimum. They had to do quite a bit of work on the seat tube on my bike as it has been bent at some point meaning the seat would not go in but this was sorted. Great people with a wealth of information, highly recommended! Now to strip paint off the rest of the parts them prime, then paint
  18. Found this local on ebay and paid the sum of 99p for it. I'm not exactly sure of the use of it so any help would be appreciated.
  19. is this the thread you were after? http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?5204-Cracked-block
  20. universal jeep supplies recommend the hotchkiss ones and apparently they are very popular compared to the old ones because they are better built or something and less liable to crack, they would also fit the original head. But that depends on if you want to compensate with a hotchkiss engine and have people at shows saying that you have the wrong engine.
  21. This was a cheap buy at W&P a couple of years ago. It looks to be a wartime type but i dont know if it is a postwar Greek jacket. I am not sure if the white spot is original or just added later, my guess is later. it has had plenty of repairs done in its life. I believe the spot is for pows
  22. On the second series there are two or more what seem to be M8s
