  1. In '41, it'd be straight off to the desert? http://www.mafva.net/other%20pages/starmer%20camo.htm So, either Caunter or light stone depending on when in '41 it rolled off the lines.
  2. Interesting, a Panther Ausf G, in excellent condition, or a large-scale model? Nobody's going to pony up for it sight unseen, so I'm sure we'll find out pretty quickly if it is real.
  3. [video=youtube_share;WzeJvXEybyY] The Aberdeen Proving Ground collection, stored outside.
  4. Surprisingly large numbers of bits out there for these & if the will's there. This chap's restoring a Stug IIID. https://www.facebook.com/#!/StugIIIAusfDRestoration?fref=ts Started with a wreck from Wheatcroft's collection.
  5. Can't see why the Guardianistas got in such a tizzy about it.
  6. http://collections.beamish.org.uk/search-results?query=tank+&searchType=everything&withPhotos=0&hiQuality=0&go.x=21&go.y=27&offset=40 A couple of pictures on this page, I can't get them to open. I wonder what happened to it.
  7. Old books and stuff are soooooo yesterday, today's yoof won't find them interesting cos they aren't interactive.:argh:
  8. That took some flipping over!
  9. ..that's forever German. Took a walk around the churchyard ( (St John the Baptist) at Scampton & came across this group of 8 headstones. A quick dig around this interweb thingy yields the following. http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showthread.php?16273-German-war-graves-at-Scampton
  10. I'm wondering if it's the ex-Melbourne tank museum example. It was auctioned off in 2008 to an unknown private collector.
  11. Still exists. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2299032/Rare-200-tonne-railway-gun-make-historic-journey-Utrecht-mark-300th-anniversary-treaty-ended-Spanish-War.html
  12. Had the great fortune to be offered a chance to visit this week. My kind of "museum", where you can (within reason!) climb all over the exhibits. Firstly the armoury. https://www.facebook.com/#!/adam.gallon/media_set?set=a.10152843086868984.1073741851.697708983&type=1&pnref=story What a collection! Some virtually unique pieces, ranging from Brown Bess to modern small arms. We had a show around & a talk on some of their interesting bits by a true British eccentric who works there. Good job there weren't any French in our party, he takes great pleasure in pointing out that they're Britain's historic foe and haven't won a battle since 1815. The "large items". I didn't take photos of everything and I'm too old & fat to be a tankie! (Virtually too tall at 5'7" to be a Russian tankie anyway!) https://www.facebook.com/#!/adam.gallon/media_set?set=a.10152840671513984.1073741850.697708983&type=1&pnref=story
  13. Bunkers maybe in Germany, the writing's Russian.
  14. If you've got any photos of those, it'd be interesting.

  17. One sat by the roadside, at a paintball place just outside Ancaster, Lincolnshire. Looks like we're getting further from Kent every post!
  18. Going.... Lucky, ain't I!
  19. "Shouldn't we strap it on comrad"? "Nyet, something that heavy isn't going to move"! :nut::mad:
