  1. Clearly, there is a difference between bullet proof and Chris Hall proof. Be careful, you might end up as the next thing to be banned!
  2. The stupid thing is that if the broomstick were mistaken for a firearm by somebody and they were alarmed by it, an offence would likely be committed. I bought a new phone the other week and the girl in the shop was telling me about the various cases available. I was thinking of a dust proof case and she told me about a chap who had asked for, I assume in jest, a bullet proof case. She was astounded that anybody should need such a thing as ''there are no guns in England''.....
  3. There were certainly early and late examples of the front two.
  4. The Cavalier service instruction book has the usual fabric reinforced paper version in its rear pocket, though the words 'lubrication chart cavalier' are not printed on it. There is no mention in the book of a metal version though. The parts list would be the likely place to check but sadly, I do not have one.
  5. There is no market for tanks rebuilt from that condition however, the finished value is just not there. Taken on as a private project, it's doable. I can't see it happening though.
  6. Regarding blank sizes, I have seen it written by some Police guidelines that the 1" diameter is to be measured just ahead of the rim of the cartridge, an odd way to measure a calibre but a good way to get 20mm into FAC territory.
  7. If you get it and wanted to blank fire, the blanks would also have to be on your certificate.
  8. This again will differ depending on which force you come under. Some holders will be seen as a collector and approved as such. The Home Office standard for deactivating artillery is not terribly onerous but it does detract from the condition somewhat! Most 'users' of artillery want to blank fire and this is more or less impossible to do with a deactivated piece. The deact requirement is for the chamber to be plugged as near to the rear face as practical. This prevents anything being inserted into the chamber. Consequently, for blank fire or film use, an open chamber and bore is needed and hence it has to be live.
  9. Was there any suggestion they had been hard targets?
  10. Frank, if it works out better to buy from here and ship, I can do that for you.
  11. It's a thing of beauty Ron and a real credit to you(and your friends)! I would love one in my collection.
  12. Almost certainly Lucas - Air Ministry - Headlamp. Never seen that before though, learn something new everyday!
  13. Of all the post 1943 vehicles they chose to take back in time to 1940.........
  14. I can help you there. Oh and welcome to the forum!
  15. They are the later pattern box holder for the M23 mount.
  16. One thing to be aware of with model making mixes is they are big on scale effect. They say a colour needs to be lighter to look the same on a model. I have no idea if Mikes mixes are scale colours or 1:1, I assume the latter if matched to a sample.
  17. Hoping to add a 17 pdr to the collection, preferably live. Happy to import, paperwork no problem. Would consider carriage only.
  18. From the title I thought you'd misplaced your wife!
  19. I have some Steve, a couple of different sizes. I think they are Danish but are all hessian tape style.
  20. I have a take-off panel, NOS oil and temp, will have to check the speedo and fuel, switches etc.
  21. It is just a large single shot rifle in effect, definitely Sect. 1. You should have no problem adding it to your FAC via a variation, subject to your local Police being happy.
  22. Welcome Michael, your English is fine, better than some on here and considerably better than my Russian! Adrian
