  1. It will need a test as you can't run under STGO unless you are carrying an abnormal indivisible load. A 432 will fit on a normal truck so STGO doesn't apply. (Unless it has all changed since I used to run a wagon!)
  2. The thing is the spare parts box. The holes in your shield are different positions though. The British and Canadian box mounts on four holes but the top two are further apart that the lower pair and they are not as far down the shield as on yours.
  3. Mk II, not a Mk I. The latter had a welded turret with a 20mm semi- co-axial.
  4. Really nice work. I'm very envious of your shed, a world of difference to what you had when I was there.
  5. The gearshift was originally on the right anyway as it was first used on M3 medium. Sexton was built on Ram and Ram was based on M3 not M4 so it could be said that they were all as designed with Sherman being the modification. Steering is easy to have as needed as both sides brake control shafts enter their respective brake housings directly. It's simply a matter of joining the levers to the actuating shafts as required.
  6. Slightly different gear and brake linkages is all that is required.
  7. That's just T62, riveted steel chevron. A Chrysler track so very common on Commonwealth Shermans.
  8. The reversed end connectors are just used to join short lengths of track together.
  9. It's an American M17 type, used in most post war armour.
  10. You're welcome to come and look at any time but you will need to make contact with the owner to buy. I can send some pics if you pm your e mail address.
  11. The 6 pdrs are at mine, though I am only holding them for the owner. I don't think they are expensive as such, they almost never come up for sale! If you are serious, I would make an enquiry as it looks like they are not hanging about.
  12. A group effort would be good for there is no I in ordnance........
  13. You're drifting into the realm of fantasy there Herbert.......
  14. If you could combine popping the turret with detonating the ordnance, you could catch the turret as it emerges, Polaris like from the waters......
  15. Right click on the address bar, select copy, right click in your post and select paste.
  16. This is no way intended as a criticism of peoples practices but hi-viz is not some panacea for all situations. The point of it is so that the people wearing it can be seen by the operator of the machine. Its use is now so widespread that in many situations, particularly as far as the public is concerned, it is almost ignored. Having a walker in front as a guide to the driver in an enclosed area is very wise. Having one for general movement does not make a great deal of difference to what is happening to the side or behind. The public would take more notice if the walker was naked.......
  17. Ain't that the truth! Witness the Loyd carrier workshop manual that finished last night at £260 versus an identical one that finished Friday night at £26! What is the 'value' of one of those?
  18. If that's the vehicle I think it is, it has a new glacis plate ready to be welded in. I always use mild steel of a matching thickness to replace or repair.
  19. Just found them in the Churchill VII parts list dated 1945 with the drawing dated October 45.
  20. Yes Lauren, that's the earliest mention I can find of it too. All my 1945 and 46 manuals show the normal H1 type.
  21. I wonder if that's the same thing Clive, does it have an image? I haven't found any listing in any of my armoured vehicle books nor a wartime picture of one.
