  3. You can just about see the plate under the trailer in this period photo but no white convoy plate ? & the trailer as found.
  4. Hi guys my WW2 trailer has this metal plate bolted under the body above the axle, should it be painted white or do you think there should be another plate there aswell ? I know about the convoy switch & junction box but what are the remains of the other 2 items ? lights ? if so what do they look like ?
  5. Hi guys why has this trailer T plate got orange reflectors rather than red ones ? Is is wartime ? what would it of been fitted on ? what are the differet types ? I also need 2 more if anyone has any for sale ?
  6. I've skippered a dive boat through that entrance 100s of times during 25 years of skuba diving there, used to be allowed to moor & dive off the old fort years ago but H&S banned that..

  10. Amazing !! when you add to that lorries, cars, tanks, transporters, stores etc the numbers must be mind boggling what we left behind.
  11. So far the known total of British 180 gallon water trailers with 20" wheels is 5. 2 that I own / restoring. 1 in a private collection in Italy. 1 in Malta which is the most complete & on the show scene there. & this one in Luxembourg http://www.mnhm.lu/pageshtml/museumlookout.php

  13. Hi Guys what does the trailer plug & vehicle socket look like on a WW2 British vehicle and does anyone have any for sale please ? a photo would be much appreciated as I dont know what I'm looking for.
  14. Nice origional photo showing the business end of the trailer. Looks early war ? anyone date it or guess what trucks they are ?
  15. I can't see it affecting MVs or restored historic vehicles to much but kit cars & home builds might be a problem in the future ?
  16. Hi Richard I bought one of these 'repo' filters for my QL last year from John Morter and I must say they realy look the business. Jules came round tonight and liberated it from me untill his arrives.
  17. Easy job this morning removing the brake drums/hubs but not so easy removing the brake cams & back plates. Lots of heat / sledgehammer & about 3 hours work finally got the job done.
  18. Almost finished cutting & welding the rear section today (see post #49) should get the front finished tomorrow

  21. Personaly I think it would be a real shame not to restore it back to origional and keep the big V8, sound is as important as looks ? good luck with the restoration anyway however you decide to do it.
