  3. Some brush paint, some thin spray paint but unrestored. no welding no stripping nothing as far as I can see since leaving service ? unrestored.
  4. Just got back from viewing my new toy, nice origional / unrestored condition Morris C8GS 15cwt, collecting next Tuesday once its taxed so we can drive it home the 125 miles from wales to Oxford.

  6. Hi Guys is there anybody that could collect a 'WATER' Jerry can from Bamber Bridge PR5 just off M6 Junction 30 and hold onto it untill a southern show such as Wicksteed park / Evesham or War & Peace etc. Or post it to Oxford if I send them the money first :thanx: thanks Ian
  7. Hi John, Hans has just bought the correct light from me.
  8. Slow up Tom :stop: there wont be enough vehicles left soon for you to restore at the rate your going, well done mate
  9. Looks the same as the bracket on my QL John.
  10. Hi Simon http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listing/652/334525-TURN-BUCKLE.html?search=locker&page=2
  11. Found these photos on the internet, WW1 horse drawn bowser with identical pumps as my WW2 bowsers. amazing that so much changed in respect to vehicle design, equipment, technology etc but the pumps never changed.
  12. Hi John thats correct the lids do have some sort of circular recess cut into them & I'm sure somebody on the forum must know that these boxes were used for ?
  13. Hi Tony due to their age & condition they will be of no use to me for the intended use as general storage in the Austin. I was wondering if you boys would like all 4 boxes on permanent loan for display in one of your vehicles ?
  14. Just opened up the boxes to find that one of them is full with what looks like 1920s amateur radio equipment ?
  15. I thought you might like my little find Tony, it cant be every day that things like this turn up in almost 'as new' condition. Would look good in the back of a Dennis or Thornycroft
  16. Sell you one Jules ? you got something to tell us mate ?
  17. Hi Gary thanks for that info, 3 of them are 1917 & one is either 1915 or 1916 ?
  18. Hi Mark we had the same point raised last Thursday at our local MVT meeting, a local steam railway society wants WW2 vehicles to attend their Steam weekend in May but several owners of 70s vehicles made a fuss because they want to attend. Also last Summer we attended an event at Coleshill Manor 40s weekend which the orginasers made clear was only for 40s vehicles but it was 'gate crashed' by a couple of 70s vehicles which I think embarrased the organiser and spoilt the effect. If its Halfpenny Green at War I'm guessing that they might want only WW2 period vehicles ? OK fire away at me :saluting:
  19. Can anyone identify & date these boxs ? I won one on ebay a couple of days ago for £8.10 & when I got there he let me have another 3 for £30 in total. I was thinking 50s or 60s ? but one is lined with a 1923 newspaper, could they be post WW1 ?
  20. Very interesting Tony & just at the right time. I am about to start silver soldering some brass 'plumbing' on my Water Bowser Restoration but was not sure what silver solder to use ? but now I'm going to try Easyflo No.2 Thanks.
  21. I'll let you off this time mate, atleast you found a minuite to say hello to Jane last night.
  22. Rear hitch is almost finished, all I need to do now is weld it. All we had to go on was the 2 holes in the rear chassis which gave us the bolt spacings & 1 old photo which we 'blewup' to get the size & some detail. I heated up the bottom section of the 'D' shackle to straighten it out & left the top section with the curve, We think it looks about right & once its painted who's going to know ?
  23. Has a good result on ebay last week with some origional WW2 heavy duty ammo box hinges, although I cant be sure if correct they are the right period & look right. Fitted the lid / centre shelf & gave the box a good rub over with a band sander making sure its not to perfect, all I need now are some catchs for the lid & fill a couple of the dove tails. I also need to get some square nuts & #12 c/s screws for the hinges before anybody picks me up on the hex nuts.
