  1. I'll swap you jeep for my bits + £200, howzabout that then! Leave it, go and buy another MV thats in a worse state than the jeep, then start doing the dirty mucky bits to your new "project". When you start getting oily and mucky, you might want to get back to the clean jobs of the jeep......in theory anyway!
  2. Hello, Im sure you'll find lots of tank enthusiasts on here, Im one of them. Working up to a tank myself, closest Ive got a tthe minute is our Skoda (werke!) Fabia. ;-)
  3. nothing to do with semaphore I suppose?
  4. Anything to do with cavalry or horses?
  5. Has anyone ever used these and are they really worth spending £39.00 on? We need to bend the metal round the arches of the C8. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o72/rik242_2006/8997.jpg[/img] "tool for shrinking flanged edges on curved panels"

  9. Bell XP-59a. I thought they started in 1942 testing, I could be wrong? :dunno:
  10. Sandbag!? Is that her name? :shake: Sound slike a wrestler- no offence! :shake:
  11. The only decent bit of the body is the front grille! The rest is getting replaced. Chassis seems fairly solid all over apart from fronty tubular crossmember will need a repair, and the front bumper and bumper brackets will need to be fitted.
  12. ....and not forgetting to tell her what a good investment it will be!
  13. Then dont tell her! Tell her you are spending £200 instead! Not that I would do anything like that!
  14. This will be a verylong restoration I feel! The priority is the restoration of the Morris son that does take priority, but the jeep will be added to whenever the bits come along! Not having oodles of cash to buy a wartime jeep I decided my best bet would be to get one that needed a complete rebuild. As luck would have it one came up for sale, that needed more than a complete rebuild- it was a bare chassis and running gear! This doesnt seem as insane as it might as it means I didnt have to strip down bodywork etc to start with a chassis, so saving a bit of time! I have the front bodywork, no tub. All running gear, diffs, drums, springs but no engine and gearbox. The vehicle was a bit of a mystery to start with as regards the chassis plate, it had a British chassis plate that had been replaced in a different place which was a bit odd. With some helpful answers from some forum members it was decoded by and large and turns out to be a jeep that was in British service. Which made it a bit different and bit better! I received the service record card back from Deepcut and it points to it having been in service with the RAOC. So the plan is to rebuild it as a bomb disposal jeep, in Brit markings of course!
  15. Thanks ;-) After a short break of not being able to do much recently, things are starting to happen again. The truck has been in a short tern storage but is due back to us before the end of the week. In the meantime Ive collected the mudwings which were handmade in Manchester, collected a fairly intact radiator surround from Julian over near Oxford and Stu "Tinsnips" has been repairing the doors. Pic of one in progress, the other side had rotted out in the same place so looks fairly similar to this one. Rear Front We've started to look at repairing the cab now. Heavily corroded in places. The most difficult job is going to be fabricating the sides of the cab, but the plan is to wait for the chassis to return and start rebuilding it from the chassis up. The cab, with floor side up.
  16. Be careful what you say about the Morris! the hole in the roof is so you can stand up on the seat so the flesh on your knees doesnt get melted off from the heat of the engine cowl.
  17. ....some people are cruel to animals too....some grow up to be serial killers....and some do stuff like that!
  18. Been in a C8, not mine, and great fun to be a passenger, though probably not on a long distance! Bumpy, noisy, but most of all the heat from the engine makes for a warm ride to say the least!
