  1. Used as a Daf YA 126 trailer then, i learned that the Ben-Hur ww2 trailers got repurposed between 1954 and 1958 by Polynorm. Someone can fill in more.
  2. Looking like a top job sir! Can't wait to see the final result at a show.
  3. Gone are the days where one could buy a £150 left in a field crusty series 2. Parts are skyrocketing too, it used to be fun to go to a show with a boat trip from Holland and have a 109 tub full to drag home. Nice times me and my dad have had.
  4. I guess they used a pitch measure device, it is a handy tool to have in metric and imperial combs.
  5. Sorry for the long link, but will this work? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/182050549149?chn=ps&dispItem=1&adgroupid=13585920426&rlsatarget=aud-295856144804%3Apla-142405565586&abcId=&adtype=pla&merchantid=6995734&poi=&googleloc=9044876&device=m&campaignid=207297426&crdt=0&ul_ref=http%253A%252F%252Frover.ebay.com%252Frover%252F1%252F710-134428-41853-0%252F2%253Fmpre%253Dhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.ebay.co.uk%25252Fitm%25252Flike%25252F182050549149%25253Fchn%25253Dps%252526dispItem%25253D1%2526itemid%253D182050549149%2526targetid%253D142405565586%2526device%253Dm%2526adtype%253Dpla%2526googleloc%253D9044876%2526poi%253D%2526campaignid%253D207297426%2526adgroupid%253D13585920426%2526rlsatarget%253Daud-295856144804%253Apla-142405565586%2526abcId%253D%2526merchantid%253D6995734%2526gclid%253DCjwKCAjwxJnNBRAMEiwA8X_-QTyUNSRcSFRVc9Mow86kpMQpk_rFKDoevw3fcBRn-BL9XyZ3KzD0wxoClvMQAvD_BwE%2526srcrot%253D710-134428-41853-0%2526rvr_id%253D1297519124271
  6. Using photobucket on my phone without ad block meant pop ups, I don't mind those, but the ones that rerouted to another website with a "your phone is infected with 8 viruses" and no way to to back to the photobucket page except for 're entering the web address on a fresh page. That is something they could have stayed away from.
  7. I used a 28V lorry alternator, till the starter packed up.. It is an option if originality is not a big deal. I believe on a Dutch language Facebook page "prikkers markt" there were a few panels for sale fot not to much.
  8. Even a humble land rover could make a chance? £500 would pay for a engine restoration alone, a better thing to have then my shoe string budget
  9. 18x 16000 miles a year in the 109, 101 and 88 lightweight combined. Did a lot of home to work and back, UK trips Amsterdam to Brighton and from amsterdam to my fiance in lincolnshire with 1000kg freight in the 109 , etc. A lot of fuel got used, did not keep tabs on it.
  10. I have send super mod marmite a message about shutting this thread down or remove it completely. Even included a link to It, and that we can start a new thread with old tools.
  11. Photobucket does not let me down load complete folders... Manually is a big job but I need to do it I guess.
  12. Scaffold pipe mock ups and green scaffold netting might be another option. They use that at Donna Nook bombing range.
  13. My Dad, my wife and myself won't go anymore, my brother I don't know. Any other week long shows or a long weekend show but with a few attractions on the side? MVT has good shows? War and peace lost its magic it seems.
  14. They don't understand it is a restoration, not a renovation. Cut a corner here and slide down a slippery slope. You are doing the right thing!
  15. At westenhanger I believe there was a field with said name, first year it was in a after the harvest condition, next year grass seeded but bumpy because of ruts. It might not be a issue to most, but for wheelchair users a major inconvenience. It was a lot better at Beltring, including the disability toilet at the farm it self, even if the key used was not a radar key. Fields are rolled, near flat so, I have to give the organisation that much... It is better at the old home.
  16. I am looking at things through disability needs. We use two buckets to piss and **** in then dump in the chemical toilet point as wheelchairs through mud or just the Kitchener field conditions were not easy to do. Drink driving to the toilet was discouraged by field supervisors. As for trench foot and not showering that often, we boil water and mix it to a decent temperature, neighbours did complain about nudety.
  17. Can a 2.25 or 2.5 diesel be converted to a multi fuel? Just wondering if it could be done in a series 3 landy.
  18. Ehhh.. I did hear about lack of toilets and showers. How does that work with that extra toilet charge? Some stated they wish the show was back at Folkestone.
  19. I would not use my urine because of my medication, it always is dark. In my vehicle first aid kit I carry a suture set, mostly in case I need it with the dogs. Not all can carry morphine, I have a second kit that contains sugared morphine in case my wife needs it.
  20. Should a needle and thread for sutures be part of the kit? I read about the Dutch troops have had copper sulfate bandages for treatment of phosphorus burns.
  21. Or if the old bare block is scrap, I might want it to practice nickle electrodes on.
  22. Grind the repair out, heat it up by torch and mickle electrode to weld it? Use dry fine sane to bury the repair to cool gently. Or get the block stitched.
  23. I have a 109 2a LHD Land Rover with the holes where the vehicle repair plate used to be and signs of lights in the wings and in the radiator panel. A ex owner gave me the details of when it got sold off and when he imported it from Germany and the abuse it had in salt water conditions. We also have a ex ambulance 101fc that should have been stationed there, anyone has pictures of details and insignia used over there? Thanks.
  24. My dad has 2, both gifted to him I have 4.5 as one was a wedding gift, My wife has 2.5 as obvious
