About Me

  1. I acquired this chassis originally for spares for a Dennis bus, but it is just too good to break. Mechanically it is complete, and there are many spare parts to go with it, including radiator. Regrettably the body was recently in a state of collapse, but the cab doors and tin work were salvageable. It has a V5 (registered with van body) and I believe some restoration work was started in the past, as various items have had at least a coat of paint. It runs reasonably healthily, the cone clutch is free and it goes into all gears. The engine is the Dennis sidevalve 4 of 3.7litre capacity, common to a few other Dennis models and certainly some pumps. A great project for somebody who has the resources. I would like about £1500 but I am open to serious offers as this really deserves to be restored. It came with very little history but I can assist with provenance as one of its working identities (most likely built as a pantechnicon) is now known.
  2. What BMC block is this? Got it with a bunch of parts and want to find out what it is before i sell. It came out of a land rover but the owner said it is better for a canal boat, as a anchor. All help is appreciated.

  8. Hello, Maybe someone from the forum is interested in pumps for old diesel engines. I'm from Poland, Warsaw. My factory have pumps firms: Bosch, Friedmann & Maier, SIGMA, C.A.V, Motorpal, WZM . These pumps are of the 60s and 70s of the last century. People interested, I will send a list of these pumps. Regards, avoorm
  9. Not quite sure where to post this - hopefully here is acceptable as it is WW1 military railway equipment and not-for-profit organisation? Just a short note to let you know that the newly created “Tracks to the Trenches” Driver experience course dates for 2016 have been released. This unique “day in the life” of a WW1 light railway operating company driver (footplate experience course) uses much of our large historic collection of (British, French and US) WW1 railway engines and rolling stock. Delivered in a special presentation gift pack, the voucher has a validity of 18 months, with the actual course date to be selected and booked directly by the recipient. With Christmas just around the corner, is this a perfect present for those difficult people who already have everything!? Please see http://www.ww1-event.org/driver-experience-course for more details! In other news, plans are developing well for the next "Tracks to the Trenches" WW1 Centenary Event - 13-15th May 2016. Please keep watching the main website - we are always keen to receive offers of WW1 exhibits and assistance! 10. Hello, I am a new member from North Germany, and I have nothing to do with military vehicles - only with the Rolls-Roye engines that have been used in many British military and other special purpose vehicles (i.e., fire engines). I came to this forum because I was looking for Rolls-Royce B-range petrol engines: B60/61 and B80/81. We are using these engines to build Bentley or Rolls-Royce specials, one of our customers did put one into a historic boat. I have not found out yet how to place a 'wanted' advert, but I spread the word here - anyone who has such an engine an wants to dispose of it, please let me know. Regards from Germany Felix
