  1. So you're missing the upper Division Plate in its entirety? If it was there it should have two plates on it, one a brass one with the Vickers works number and an alloy one carrying the MOD details. I'd have a word with Carwood about the repair kit. As you're on the other side of the pond they shouldn't think they're losing a sale and they may even know of someone in your area. Andy
  2. My parents paid £600 for their new Mini around then ... Andy
  3. The NSN for the filter is 2940-99-802-5717, OEM part number APWC5671 if it helps. Andy
  4. If the Army VRN isn't painted on it(!) take a look at the plate in the driver's compartment by the gear lever. You're looking for a number that's either 07EBXX or 08EBXX (I own 08EB10). The current favourites for fuel pump reconditioning are http://www.carwood.co.uk but you should be able to find someone on your side of the pond, it's basically a standard Lucas/CAV commercial unit with different connectors. Note that Carwood's service is by exchange unit so you'll need one to send them. Make sure you remove the outlet union as you might not get one back with the exchange pump! Andy
  5. Not helped by the fact that the DSA won't allow individuals to buy "scrap", even if it isn't! Andy
  6. Welcome Rick - which Abbot did you import? Andy
  7. I hadn't heard that idea before! Andy
  8. Just bought myself a copy, thanks for the recommendation! Andy
  9. It's straightforward to get a reconditioned pump, at least in the UK. Did you replace the fuel filter on the pack at the same time? What's the army registration number of your Abbot, out of interest? Andy
  10. These things can be a real pain, the threads are very fine and corrode easily. I take it you've tried doing it up slightly first? It's also worthwhile wiggling the cable end of the connector if you can. On the tool front, I find the jam jar opener rubber strap wrenches ideal for these. Available cheaply from your local supermarket. When you get it apart, remember to put a smear of copper grease on it when reassembling! Andy
  11. ... and don't forget you don't need a CPC unless you're driving for hire or reward! Andy
  12. At a guess, it's either an apprentice workshop piece or was possibly used for Radar Cross-Section or other targetting measurements. Andy
  13. The main difference is that the Hawkers are gel (AGM) batteries which are maintenance free and have a lower internal resistance and self-discharge rate. The Marcus Glenn batteries are conventional wet lead acids. You get what you pay for! Andy
  14. Are you asking specifically about the Marcus Glenn ones or 6TN batteries in general? Andy
  15. No different to any other tracked AFV wheel since, then? Andy
  16. Go into Device Manager in XP and see what devices are present. It's probably got both USB and serial ports in some form. Judging by the connectors it's certainly got 1553 and Ethernet. Andy
  17. Specialised Vehicle Training in Norfolk are another possibility. I took my H test in one of their Scorpions. Andy
  18. No, that's just the Army version of a wheeled laptop carrying case! :-) Andy
  19. Judging from the photos here: http://www.milweb.net/webverts/58298/ the interior fittings look like standard MOD 1960's furniture. The sort of thing disposed of by the ton in surplus sales! Andy
  20. Either via PM on here or http://www.britishmilitaryvehicles.co.uk/ Andy
