  1. We don't have a safety section as such in the Forum, so I'll put this here. The UK Health and Safety Executive have released a warning about an accident with a track adjuster on a (non-military) item of plant where the grease nipple was ejected with fatal results. Just beware if you are using a hand-held grease gun and standing in line with the grease nipple. http://www.hse.gov.uk/safetybulletins/t ... ioning.htm Andy
  2. A shame you weren't at Tankfest over the weekend, there was one there you could have looked round. Andy
  3. If it was me I'd contact the Institution of Explosives Engineers and ask if there's anyone local who would do something for you. Andy
  4. What exactly do you want it for? That may determine the sort of person/organisation who could issue it. Andy
  5. Looks like a convenient stopping point on my next trip to Abbey Wood! :-) Andy
  6. Something has gone wrong with your link, which I think is a Photobucket problem: http://i517.photobucket.com/albums/u339/kcimb/money%20pit/EF31E723-6AB8-42E5-8EFC-26BD6A1FDCCC_zpsbft6ufbo.jpg Andy
  7. Well deserved praise, and the look on your daughter's face is priceless! Andy
  8. That looks gorgeous - well done! Andy
  9. With or without ear defenders? :cool2: Andy
  10. From the Operating Information AESP ... RB44 Fuses.pdf Andy
  11. Judging by the lack of big bangs at 1300 each day I gather the attempts weren't successful? Andy
  12. Funnily enough I was going to say something about the toilets too - nicely looked after and very pleasant to use. A real shame about the weather yesterday, but what do you expect for a Bank Holiday Monday? A lot of people had drifted away by lunchtime and when I volunteered to take the RB44 round the arena for the 4pm Post-War vehicles show I was the only one there! All in all, good fun. Thank you very much to the organisers. Andy
  13. Does anyone own Chieftain 00FC27 or 02EB58? Their AB413s and other vehicle records are sitting on a stall at Solent Overlord, give me a shout if you want me to grab them for you. Andy
  14. Thanks Clive - currently watching nature's impressive firework display with sound effects and glad I dropped the mast overnight! Andy
  15. The RB44 is now safely parked up - gorgeous weather this afternoon as things start to come together, but forecast for rain first thing tomorrow. Might damp down the dust a bit! (I see we've still got the unwanted thumbnails problem!) Andy
  16. Good news on both fronts, then. Well done! Andy
  17. Isn't the important point here that it was a Crown Vehicle with the emphasis on the "was"? Any exemptions it may have had expired when it passed into civilian hands. Andy
  18. Those aren't Hawkers, just normal wet lead-acids. Andy
  19. Ah - I've just twigged the bit about dusty; Red Duster, of course! Andy
  20. Don't forget that Seaslug was in the middle of all this, too. I had the experience of visiting one of the last County Class destroyers on a trip to Portsmouth many years ago. All the length of the ship behind the bridge was a missile factory that put all the bits together in sequence until it emerged in a single piece on the launcher at the stern. Amazing! Andy
  21. Seems to have a booster rocket - is it Red Shoes/Thunderbird? Andy
  22. Banisters are the usual source of parts for the B8X series engines. Andy
  23. I think you'll find the site is now a Costco warehouse, judging by Google Maps and my local knowledge. I remember that area being a series of hangars and odd buildings before the site was sold off and redeveloped. Interestingly, one of those hangars (Q Shed) used to house Thrust SSC during its initial development and test runs. Andy
  24. Have you: (a) tried the 353 on a different input to the IB3? (b) checked the continuity of the cable between the 353 and IB3? (and I hope you're not transmitting without a licence!) Andy
