  1. I am not a LOL'er but that did make me LOL!
  2. I have been working through the videos by the same people, the marsh tanks are in amazing condition with traverse and breach that can still operate. All down to the anaerobic conditions of the mud I guess.
  3. I cannot find this one on the forum, sorry if it is a pea-roast. There are so many WW2 vehicles being hauled out of Russian swamps, could we have a thread to post the youtube links on in one place?... this one maybe?
  4. You may find this useful as well... http://www.clifton.nl/index.html?calvin.html a search on the number given gets... 6. The above avatar is for vehicle forums and is my 63 series 2A landie. On other forum I use a picture of the beam of a 7 colour laser I made. Rog is my name
  7. Hand positions for dancing the hornpipe.....
  8. Sky chan 203 vintage country ways, a number of green things shown briefly, may be more to come.
  9. Around 1969 I first fired an enfield .303 on an RAF base a stones thow from Scampton. When I put the rifle to my left shoulder the instructor told me to stop. He then instructed me that after firing I should lay the rifle over to the left and turn my face to the right as I pulled the bolt back...... I managed to remember to do this....for the first 5 rounds. After the first shot of my second five I was reminded by a tap on the forehead from a lump of brass.:undecided: I did, that day, recieve my RAF marksman certificate though.
  10. Why leave the wheel hoop? *Edit* Just noticed the saw in the same picture so you are the Bugger then?
  11. Ah West street, I know it well, how many years have you run it? As I seem to have been stopping to look in the window all my life! I suspect I used to buy my balsa from you in the dim and distant....
  12. ...I await the video with sound that will no doubt accompany the run out....please! My young life was filled with the noise of Bedford trucks, I still love to hear them.
  13. That did make me LOL:D
  14. I work half a mile from RAF Headley court, helicopter activity is not unusual but todays deafening visitors were a sight to behold, it started with a regal flyover from a Sikorsky MH-53. Followed by a fully loaded Apache which landed then a few minutes later lifted off and bugged out towards the south..... I was in and out of the field centre like a greased whippet every time I heard an engine!
  15. This has happened all through metrication and is one reason why we were always told not to hark back to outmoded currency, weights and measures. Just for those too young to be a grumpy old man like me here is a short history lesson.... When we worked in gallons and £-s-d in the 60's a 1/2d a gallon rise was the minimum increase. When we decimalised a minimum rise of 1/2p was equivelent to 1 and 1/4 old pence so rises more than doubled overnight. After a while the 1/2p was withdrawn, doubling the minimum rise overnight.....again! Now we are on litres the miniimum rise has become 4.5p per gallon... that is 10 and 1/2d in old money So in 50 years price rises have risen by 21 times. Lesson over (all calculations based on rounding up or down to nearest 1/2d.... or a farthing if nearer )
  16. Done! I left the following message
  17. I was surprised to recieve a writen reply to my e-mail, I was not surprised to read that:_ The present government have reduced tax recently by 1p and overturned a proposed rise left over from the previous government. I think page 2 must be missing as there is no mention of the 16p rise that i complained about.....
  18. I am going to show my ignrance here but..... They were big and green, the one in the middle had 8 large wheels and carried what looked like a folding bridge on the back The one in front, on a low loader, was tracked with a big blade on the front. The one at the back, also on a low loader, was enormous and tracked with a hiab type crane folded into it. They were clockwise on the M25 just transfering to the south bound M3 at 2:30 this afternoon.
  19. Chatham dockyard is in easy reach, that is well worth a visit.
  20. I have e-mailed my MP on this, in the 2 years since I last got a wage rise, my drive to and from work has gone from £7.20 a day too, at current prices, £10.20.... the proposed rise will take my daily commute to £10.80, that is 33% more than 2 years ago! I know some of this is due to barrel prices but much more is down to tax, this next rise is going too far, are the government trying to make it impossible to run a car/drive to work? Regards Dissgruntled of Berkshire
  21. I do think the prototypes looked good with cycle mudguards, nice article, thanks for posting it, very interesting.
