  4. PB1954RNS sent me one of his photo's added here and in the old mains yard thread
  5. Went to check on cattle on monday morning, cattle were where they should be but the electric fence was gone
  6. Thats the fella! I did wonder about the age when I noticed chromed rollover hoops behind each seat as I was pretty sure they would not be on original trikes.
  7. Morgan 3 wheeler in Olive drab with RAF roundels on a trailor in surrey...
  8. I just came across this one on the RAF regiment site..... who is rescueing who? http://www.rafregiment.net/images/Who's helping who.jpg
  9. As my old mum says "if I had watched what you were doing I would have had to stop you, so I turned away" The dumper left at the top of the hill in the road works that we all piled into and rode to the bottom of the hill! Two of us on roller skates with a sheet stretched between us as a sail, tacking our way along the road! The front trolley with 4 wheels, you could join the train if you had a pair of wheels, a plank and a pivot bolt.....I think 7 trailors was the max...... the whiplash was horendous on the bend at the bottom of the hill :cool2: I survived as did all my mates that spent the rest of our spare time building camps in the woods.
  10. I just had to clean that one up a bit, is that a wheelnut spider on the kerb?
  11. Dodge power wagon clockwise on M25 between A3 and M3 Sunday at around 11:00
  12. I started out 30 years or so ago with a C-scope VLF TR 1000 updated to a C-Scope Metadec as soon as it was launched, that was the best detector I have owned bar none! Lost that one in a house fire and replaced it with a Garrett GTA 500, a very nice detector. I decided to upgrade after a few years to the Garrett GTI2500. Although this was the top of the range Garrett detector at the time I find it much less user friendly than its predecessor, it takes a bit of getting used to especially when analysing signals...... I have not taken it out since losing touch with my metal detecting buddy around 6 years ago
  13. I am glad someone else remembers that, when I have mentioned it in the past I have been greeted with blank looks and began to feel I had imagined watching it! I do remember the stolly as it was the first time I had ever seen one in action.
  14. I am not sure of the protocol but I will assume that photo's from other forums are someone elses property so here follows a link to where the first 2 photo's show a Scammell artillery tractor and a crossley/coles crane, both in the hands of the German Wehrmacht. http://tiny.cc/scamandcross
  15. Sold for £2000 http://www.cheffins.co.uk/lot/-509997-vintage-0
  16. Scrub that, the description was different to the actuality......
  17. More4 138 on sky now (10:00 pm Tuesday) , a guy who builds a war time village in his garden. May be of interest
  18. Seen north bound on the M3 about to join the M25, 2 low loaders each carrying "a tank" Now, I have to say at this point that as I was joining the M3 south bound at the time I was not in a position to have a good look but they both looked pretty stripped with no tracks and missing various idlers....they may also have been without turrets.... the main impression was green/long/low.
  19. I have a garden tractor that lives under a tarp, when I got it out last week I found bits of chewed fuel tank on top of the engine:embarrassed: At least with the holes at the top of the tank I was able to tape it up.
  20. That is beautiful! I hope it will be restored to its fairground condition. *Edit* Rethink it would look right with a standard front end and the fairground rear... well I think so anyway:D
  21. In my teens I started collecting cameras, I had around 200 of them until the day my house burned down and I lost the lot. Way back then I used to make deliveries and collections at antique shows, there were always a couple of camera dealers there. They seemed to get quite a good turn over of stock, is it worth considering taking a pitch at a show to sell the cameras? *Edit* Just had a look at your list, there is one there that still survives from my collection as it was in my car the night the house went poof, the klito No1 falling plate sits in its box collecting dust these days. I have to say that a lot of those cameras listed are worth pence but as a collection they are a nice history of makers and film formats... though no 9.5mm cine?
  22. Fantastic! Thanks for posting the videos, very nice, sound looking truck.
  23. On my nature reserve the night faries came and emptied the diesel tank, a week later they took the generator, destroying the shed it was in in the process, 12kw lister petter so no lightweight. For months after we had to work with a massive hired gennie, that would require a crane to nick. Was anything recovered? was anyone arrested for the thefts? No, never heard anything about it again. It was not the first time that we had been targeted so we spent £150,000 on having mains electricity installed. Money that was to go to rebuilding the field centre, it makes me so angry!
  24. on English Russia worth a look. http://englishrussia.com/index.php/2011/03/07/engines-of-the-second-world-war-in-a-moscow-museum/#more-39030 Regards rog8811
