  1. With most blasting its more about a massive volume of air rather than pressure. So big hoses and big compressors are the order of the day. They have a habit of getting blocked easily too, make sure your grit is free of foreign debris. Have a look at the setup i have on my blog: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?3975-Scammell-Pioneer-Restoration Richard
  2. Hi Joe, Definatly be intersted in some hoops at some point in the future. I think i've actually been to your place to see another HMVFers Scammell that he used to keep in one of your barns. A mutual friend, James Buchan, put me onto your website, looks like you do some top notch steam work too. Got any pics of the hoops? Look forward to seeing progress on your Matador. All the best, Richard

  9. Definatly need more british vehicles. Before the Nato member countries started getting rid of their Jimmies, Wards etc it was predominantly british vehicles on the show circuit, they must have all gone somewhere because you don't see many these days, i guess their all coming out of the woodwork now. Richard
  10. Thanks all for your input. I've spoken to a few white metallers including Terry Formhall who was vey friendly and helpful, but its sooooo expensive, way out of our budget, so after a few words of encouragement from Philb were going to tackle it ourselves. When you sit down and look at it, its not really a complex procedure just alot of work, hence why its so expensive, and its this side of the hobby that i really enjoy. Standby for updates, Richard
  11. Got the engine fully stripped now, and found some properly f@*%ed main bearings but this one really took the biscuit, no white metal atall on one side!! so now considering our options Richard
  12. I might have missed something, but whats the word on the Band of Brothers and Oddball coming? Richard
  13. Ha, yeah. didn't stop us making the trek a good few times.
  14. Thats amazing. Presumably money is the driving force, or maybe they've realised that these items will never get the attention they deserve at the IWM due to sheer numbers of vehicles. I wouldn't mind that multibank sherman Richard
  15. I wish she had! I never met a Ffek yew. All i remember is drinking lots and falling asleep in my "beer" chair.
