  1. Is that the rare ventilated cab version of the Crusader? I see the windshield is out of it on the passenger side. R
  2. Why dont you drill out spot welds? I know Eastwoods in the US has a handy dandy device, personally I just use a slightly oversize drill bit. Keeps the metal straighter than flailing it with a chisel. R
  3. I see Vintage Vehicle Manuals has a maintenance schedule for the Stormer, anyone know of any other manuals like parts and operators? R
  4. Sorry its only a small part of the vehicle but by the wizardry of electronics, here I am in Canada showing you a picture of what your talking about sitting in the UK, 'cos I can! R
  5. Dont they allow MVs in Devon any more? R
  6. Yes all over red, Range safety. Presume it is coming from Withams and it is one of the refurbed ones? R

    MoD cuts

I think what you see for disposal is only the tip of the iceberg, I think there are plenty of ABRO refurbed vehicles lurking in storage such as Stormer and K60 powered 432s. These will be good value for money purchases as complete tidy on the button vehicles if people can afford them. R
  8. How about a ROPS and 5 point harness for driver and passenger and a roller on the bumper? R
  9. Nah, the aforesaid trophy was awarded for making too many Clucking mistakes by putting all his eggs in one basket, namely a Dodge most likely! Duck for Cover R
  10. Chris, I can only see one entry for BATUS, how do you figure "some time"? Do I get a cookie or hero biscuit for being correct on saying it had been here in Canada? R
  11. air leak somewhere in the system, she is suckng air in. Check downstream R
  12. I would say that 03 FD 10 has been to BATUS as that sticker is what gets slapped on during the agriculture inspection upon entry to Canada. Like our Spartan with the add on armour that was once all yellow perhaps it was a BATUS modification for the ranges. R
  13. Welcome mate, wh dont you fill in the parts of your profile like where you live? R
  14. There was one of these, i think there are less than 10 in the world flying, at Cryslers Farm here in Ontario, Canada a few weeks ago, as I was driving in the arena it was a bit hard to see too much. Flying into the wind with side slip it was positively pedestrian in the sky only a few feet above, must be a pilots delight. Amazing to see it in the flesh R
  15. What have the generations of 432 been since original build to latest Bulldog version and TES kit. I understand that ABRO did a rebuild of some vehicles around 2006, back down to bare hull. I think they were fitted with new generation diesel engines and gearbox but still had tiller steering. The last upgrade to Bulldog standard included yoke steering, am I correct? Can anyone shed any light and or pictures on that? Anyone own one of those 2006 rebuilds? Have they even come out of the system? R
  16. Lovely event, do you think gloss paint jobs would lower aerodynamic resistance factor? R
  17. The heavily cammed up vehicle under the TOMCAR picture is a Kawasaki Mule with some additional sidelights and indicators that I have not seen before, it is likely a diesel. It is the two bench seat version. R
  18. I feel that I can weigh in as I have had the experience of swimming a stolly at a public place with persons on board and done it without a hiccup. There are old soldiers, and bold soldiers, but very few old bold soldiers. You were lucky on so many counts, think its time for a solid after action review prior to your next sortie sir. R
  19. The last 8 X 8 vehicle looks to have stalwart / saracen running gear doesnt it??? R
  20. Also look at www.militarytrucks.ca for a comparison between Bombardier and VW Ilitis R
  21. As far as my dim brain can recall the Canadian ones were built under licence by Bombardier, who also went on to make some for the Belgians. They are popular here and were the last (until someone proves me wrong) petrol powered manual transmission vehicle bought for the Canadian Forces (CF). On the CF ones there is a small valance at the base of the seat box for the rear passengers that doubles as a snow gurad over the front of the rad in winter. There were CF ones with and without a tailgate and the spare tyre location changed with that. There was also a line layer version with a cable reel mechanism and racks for ladders, few of those have survived in civvy street. As a two person light liason vehicle it was excellent. As with any military vehicle it was overloaded and people tried o make it do things and go places it shouldnt. Its end was signalled when a number of CF members lost their lives in the "un armoured jeep" as the papers reported during the Balkans episode. Since then it has been replaced by the G Wagen. R
  22. Chis McMillan (sp) otherwise known as Sirhc was waxing lyrical about someone last week, check his posts R
  23. Is anyone running theirs on only 2wd and if so with what results? R
  24. Would i be too stupid to imagine that one would take out a pair of the bolts and put them in the removal holes? R
  25. Chris, what are you going to do with the two Sabres, thats the real question. R
