  1. I'd connect pos on bat 2 (under gen panel) first, then connect interconnect cable from neg on batt 2 to pos on bat 1 (under airbox) then Finally, connect neg on batt 1, which goes to ground. Never work on either battery without disconnecting Batt 1 neg to ground. I have a cut off switch at this point - neither battery connected to ground, so no worry if accidentally shorting to chassis with a spanner whilst tightening up the clamps.
  2. I've got a 101 and a ferret, bear that in mind, very complimentary :-) Welcome in! Are you a member of the 101 club? Cheers Matt
  3. And watch your back, it's BLOODY heavy especially when knelt on sharp ferret interior :-) Recommend knee pads. Coincidentally I didn't have a prolapsed disc until I got the ferret, coincidence? :-)
  4. http://www.frost.co.uk/ethomix-additive.html postage seems a bit steep though. or from the bay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ethomix-Ethanol-Petrol-Fuel-Additive-250ml-/380332465086?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item588d94dbbe
  5. In the RR B series we don't actually need a lead replacement additive. I'm wondering about giving the ethomix ago though, expecially due to the limited mileage I'm doing, and the amount of time petrol will be in the tank. http://www.frost.co.uk/protect-your-vehicle-against-ethanol Diana and Jackie, is it still running well? Cheers MT
  6. Thats just enticing! If you are having problems you can email photos to me I will post them up. Matt
  7. Yes, I've been using Morris Golden film, but it's really gone up. Griff, do you buy Millers straight from the manufacturer? Matt
  8. Warm welcome to the forum, ferret finger ? :-)
  9. at least it's attemping to be preservered! Looks like it's been blasted without time to paint. If they knew how difficult the wings are to get they would have painted it. Don't suppose anyone can duck their head in and take a photo of the data plate :-)
  10. Hello and welcome I'm typing quickly as I think the "humber pig" sensor alarm bells have been ringing in the workshop :-) Clive will be with you forthwith :-) welcome to the forum :-) With those stats you will go straight through the holding area and straight to the bar!! 3 foxes!! brilliant! I am building ferret register, would you be able to post or PM me the mil registration details of your ferret. Cheers Matt
  11. Please don't tell me you have scrapped the ferret/s! :-(
  12. Coincidence, I did the tilt on my 101 on Saturday. Used all 5 litres of fabsil. £28 quid delivered from ebay. Seems fine. MT
  13. Is this the current advertised big wheel ferret?
  14. Incidentally, my ferret is BAOR, I'm hoping my 101 is too :-)
  15. Hello Mark A very warm welcome to the forum. I also own a 101 (and a ferret) and love it (and the ferret) :-) In fact I've been out in them both today :-) (incidentally, to the petrol station in the 101, then to the pub) I'm also in the 101 club and have just sent a cheque off to Les (the club historian) for him to apply for the military history, I thought I might as well do it through the club. (The details are in the six stud magazine) Are you the buyer of the Pitlochry 101? If not, which one have you got? Mine is a RHD GS 12v too Cheers Matt
  16. Hello there. Welcome to the forum :-) Cheers Matt
  17. Welcome in Rob. I work in automotive development, no OBDII on the ferret thank goodness. I don't need a dtc to tell me there is an oil leak, it's a given :-) Rob, I'd like to request your ferret hull number for the register if you don't mind. Please PM me if you can. Cheers Matt
  18. Welcome :-) A ferret is a very good idea :-) MT
  19. Welcome in mate. Which ferret is it, maybe we know it :-) Matt
  20. Must be a different radio frame required. The top screw down mount isn't needed when the 2 J clamps are used (as in a ferret) , so I would guess the mount for that bracket probably just has 4 u brackets and relies on the top screw to clamp it into place in the vehicle. I haven't seen one like that though.
  21. yep. Genuine plate. Ferret manufactured June 54 as you said. Ken, does the ferret have the data plate? Could you post a pic of that as well. Cheers Matt
  22. Hi Ken The small welded on plate sounds like the genuine hull plate. The numbers on the RH side of the B might be very faint. Anyway, if you can post a pic of the plate for further investigation that would be great. Matt
  23. Did anyone see what that saxon went for. Lot 263. MT
