  2. Oooooh, they have a ferret (calm down matt :-)): http://www.malcolmharrison.co.uk/StockDetailPlant.aspx?lot=1243&regno=HS1-1094&sale=315 Can't quite see the reg. MT
  3. Hi Duffy How about this for your collection :-) http://www.101club.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=7548 I would have it, if i've not just bought one :-)
  4. Yes absolutely agree, excellent :-) Andy nice shot of you and my other half, didn't think I would ever say that :-D
  5. Well done Mike, lets see some photos :-) Tell Monty, he has a register. MT
  6. Hello Paul Can you ask your friend, if he does manage to get access, to take photos of the data plates in the ferrets. The plate, or if thats missing the hull number plate is located inside the hull, just above the driver right shoulder. The data plates and the same type aluminium ones which you have in your CVRT's (usually) I'd be VERY interested to see the identity of them. Cheers Matt
  7. Thanks Stu, I see myself :-) Well not really, but I can see the ferret. It was great being in the show. Glad I had the opportunity to participate. Cheers Matt
  8. Welcome in Brad :-) Plenty of knowledge here. MT
  9. Hold on Tim, we can't be providing free beer! :-) Plenty of brews on offer though, better get some more milk and tea bags in the kitbag :-)
  10. Thanks for the info Tony :-) I'm going to keep a look out for a bead breaker. MT
  11. Sorry for the thread hijack, but I have a query about split rims. When I think if split rims I think of the 2 piece rims on the ferret – 2 sides bolted together. However am I right in saying that the most common usage of the term “split rims” generally applies to those that have a non-boltable one sided rim which seems to clip onto the main wheel or be retained by the tyre inflation, and it’s the latter form of split rim that explodes in all those you-tube clips (under inflation) Hence the need for the cages you see them being inflated in? I understand that there is danger in splitting a ferret wheel rim, if the tube is still inflated (dodgy valve for example) - if pressure remains in the tyre, the rims could blast apart. If I remove the valve from the tube in a ferret wheel, and am sure that it’s fully deflated, is there any danger when trying to break the bead and split the rim? Cheers Matt
  12. Looks great, nice and complete :-) Very pleased you said that about keeping it so. Let me know if you ever sell (I shouldn't have said that :-)) Cheers Matt
  13. Nice ambi by the way. is it complete in the back, or camperised :-(
  14. I went through the 101 club historian - Les. It took a little longer, he applies in batches. However the accompanying decoding he did was very helpful. MT
  15. 2 of mine are the same. A winters job me thinks! MT
  16. Hello The record card should be very interesting. Would you be able to scan it and post on here? As peter has already said, he's the man for the translation :-) I bet he's not done a mk4 ferret before. I'll add your mk 4 to the register. As many have said on here and facestalk. There aren't many in private hands or otherwise. I know you have said you have the manuals, which is good. Please read the owners manual carefully, there has been much damage done to ferrets in the past in the hands of untrained drivers. Even though it seems a rugged vehicle there is a lot of damage which can be done quickly if driven improperly and driven unmaintained. Case in point as an example, fluid flywheel oil seal, gearbox brake bands etc. All the best of luck Cheers Matt
  17. Welcome :-) Do you have a museum website? I am interested in knowing the details of your ferret. Regards Matt
  18. Mine is amazon, telling me what I have just bought :-)
  19. I read that somewhere too, but can't remember where. I can't find anything about it online. Do you know more details, which day? Planning on coming on Sat (in civvy car). MT
  20. Yes, I was surprised to see a 432 too. I'll ask my friend. Also, I suspect he has more pics. Cheers Matt
  21. Hello everyone A friend of mine has kindly allowed me to post his service photos from Aden. The ferrets which can be seen are: 86BA57, 04BB56?, 00CA67, 00CA69. As you can see, ferrets are without any bins or mudguards, and some have sand tyres, plus the rear light / jerrycan arrangement on 86BA57 Ferret 86BA57 is now bright yellow in Newcastle, if you know which one I mean. Great photo of a mine protected landy too (97EN26). Cheers Matt
  22. Your not helping me Andy :-) I'm trying to resist the temptation......... I must get pig instead, I must get pig instead... I'll keep up the mantra!
  23. I've got an opened 25 lit tin though :-) only 250ml used! (fluid flywheel) MT
  24. Hello Raymond Welcome to the forum :-) Can I ask which ferret are you restoring? Regards Matt
