  1. Hi Tony Thats great. Good job for getting the hull number. I had this on record, but no other details: http://www.defencetalk.com/pictures/data/181/medium/P4210023.jpg Cheers Matt
  2. Great :-) Look forward to seeing it. If you can get a photo of the data plate that would be excellent. The hull number will be the furthest number on the left. Cheers Matt Jim, I wish those ferret build records would turn up :-)
  3. Hi John Yes, there are still some sequences in the build of the later ferrets, sometimes just 2 or 3 numbers, sometimes much more. I think the sequences must have been broken up with the export orders. So the build might have been something like say 7 ferrets for MOD contract 6/FV/5135, then 12 for export, then another 13 for 6/FV/5135 and so on. I'm gradually building up the sequences in my register. And pleased to say have helped identify some unknown ferrets from it by working out the shorter sequences. (blowing my own trumpet :-)) I am very careful not to give out mis-information. The job is like repainting the humber bridge though :-) I saw that 00EC26 was listed on ebay last year, but I don't know who bought it. Hopefully the owner will google the registration and pop up on here. Cheers Matt

  19. Well, as thay say, Job is a good en! I have 01CA18 on the register as 1526 So, it does seem that 01CA19 is bang on! with Hull number 1527, built in July 58 Great, and good job retreiving the number from outside of the hull. No you can go ahead and get the record card :-) Cheers Matt Note. Without the actual data plate I can't be certain that the number is 100%, so always be open to further developments. (If only they recorded the hull numbers on the record cards :nut:)
  20. Yes, the BBA brass plate is a fake, it's stuck over the genuine hull/build plate, so hopefully underneath it will have the 4 digit hull number, followed by the Month and Year of manufacture. This data should (roughly) tell us if the CA number is in the right ball park. It is certainly a mk 2/4 as chris has said.
  21. I wish :-) However there was 2 listed in the recent MVT green sheet Classifieds (in good used condition) I think thay were located kent area?? Too far for me to travel. MT
  22. Hi Brett Could you post up photos of the identification plates which you can find. As Peter has already said, the aluminium data plate is aften missing but under it should be the Hull Number/Build plate. This will show the hull number and the date of manufacture. Hopefully, that is present and not messed with. It will be on the inside, welded on, located just above the drivers right shoulder. I will help all I can with the identification. A similar plate will be in the turret (sounds like you might have found that one) Kind regards Matt
