Jack Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Adam - have you got the decimal point in the wrong place?? Quote
ArtistsRifles Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Depending on where the decimal point is actually meant to be: $275000 = £187,037.12 $27500.0 = £18,703.71 I strongly suspect the first figure is the one being asked! And don't forget to add to this the cost of shipment back to the UK - assuming the US Authorities will let you take it out of their country.... Quote

mvdepot Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 275k$ i dont think thats a bad deal for that sherman !! she runs and is quite complete, you would be paying 5% import duty or there abouts !! it cost us around 10k£ to sort ours out but we had alot of storage to pay ,if intrested just make sure the docs are there to say the tank has been relaeased from the the US government etc or dont go there !!!! nice tank all the same . Adrian Barrell Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 It's a Grizzly, so was Canadian built and was never owned by the US Government. It would be no problem exporting it, well the small problem of finding US$275,000 for an unrestored tank...... Quote

ArtistsRifles Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 + Import Duty & Import VAT Can be waived at the discretion of HM inspectorate of Customs and taxes in view of the fact it is a historic vehicle. I've got the e-mail here somewhere from when I was going to buy that DUKW in an Oz auction and wrote to them asking this very question!! Quote
Stormin Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Can be waived at the discretion of HM inspectorate of Customs and taxes in view of the fact it is a historic vehicle.    Like the government is going to pass up the opportunity to gain a bit more cash off someone! Especially seeing as they're awash with spare cash at the moment. Quote

Adam Elsdon Posted December 14, 2009 Posted December 14, 2009 You could buy this one for considerably less, no restoration required and works straight out of the box! http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=15980 Quote
