A dissapointing turnout of vehicles this year, thanks to those who did make the effort.

As the time drew near we got a bit worried as the British Legion hadnt turned up.

The owner of the ace came out and three people in camo joined him,

one had a flag, another man with a trumpet did his bit.

The cafe owner then read the standard words followed by a poem written by a soldier of the first world war.He then apolagised for delay and explained that Apparently The British Legion had out grown us.i dont know quiet what thet means, but in my eyes it meant they had a bigger better do to go to.

Having gone to the ace now to support them for 3yrs i think they wont kicking up and down the north circular.

Any British Legion members care to comment.

Who can tell me what car this is,

looks a bit like a ford pilot?got blackout lights so i guess its war time.

Must of been wealthy,i think the man with the dogs is probably the owner of the ace garage.

Notice the pool petrol.

Morris 8 Series E on tow, remember my Dad having one, it replaced the Austin 7 Ruby.

That other Yank car looks like it might be a 1936 Plymouth

Is there anything left of the famous FERODO advert on the brick bridge, I went to school just up the road from the Ace and it was badly faded back in 1966?

This is the best i can do mike,1963 taking the deltic to the science musuem.it suffered an engine failure in 1961 and laid around till then.

were you in one of this months military mags?

as kids we would get a platform ticket then hop on a train to Hitchen to wait for the Deltic,by the time it got there it was doing close to 100 mph.
