Poole Park remembrance Sunday 07.

What another great year this was for us and the turn was a high standard again. The weather was perfect and so to was all of the company.

Kev and Steve must be very pleased with this event as it is much loved by all and I dare say that there is a lot of things that gone on behind the scenes to ruin the day but thankfully not many of us see it........it is a slick operation. It was nice to see the Scammel 'kings' there this year and to drive them around Poole is a feat in its own right and they could well be invited into the 'mans' truck clubhouse, impressive pieces of machinery.

This year we laid a wreath on Poole quay and was a nice move, it is great to see so much good energy put into use as this event has none of the usual 'power' politics in it - was just started by two guys who wanted to remember...it get better each year.

Nice to of met Miss Jeep but I was disappointed as in fact Miss Jeep is married making her Mrs Jeep but it was good to of shared the lunch table with Mr & Mrs Jeep - award winners :schocked: and for the record it was my idea to attach the wreath to a bollard so that it didn't blow into the harbour   - that said, if the council complain than I am more than happy to own up and say that it was indeed Miss Jeep idea

Just uploading about 1 million pictures........stand by.

And thanks from all of us to Kev and Steve for putting this together for us all - everyone loved it.

Well first i would like to thank Kevin and steve for organising a great and fitting event to remember our fallen...

I had a great day out with my brother in law Jack and my nephew jess, and it was nice to meet "MRS Jeep" AKA "miss jeep" and her husband and all the other MV owners...The weather was nice and we had a nice road run on the way to the park where there was a large amount of people allready there... the service was very fitting too..

Then over to poole quay to lay our wreath at the memorial..And then to the pub for a pint and a good nosh up....Here are some pictures...

Agree with Lawson there and the question has to be asked that why is it we spend the day remembering our fallen - but we continue to send our men to war for a reason that no one really knows off.

The pictures:

With out doubt, these guys in my mind are the stars of the mv circuit - I always love to see them work

This is my truck and yes there are real flowers and there is a point to them in the sense that beauty can come from death and destruction. Interesting enough I watched many people stop, and take photographs of them - it was meant to be symbolic, if it was read like this then I don't know but I am sure it wasn't lost on those who could understand the statement.

As always, the Jeep Jockeys had to have their own car park so stayed from us - rumoured had it that whilst the rest of us were brewing up in the back of our trucks they were having cream teas with Mayor..........

As you can see from Lawsons post here is Bernie placing the wreath on Poole Quay on behalf of all of us. Next year we are going to have a youngster place the wreath so that new, meets the old...

I hope this deserved tradition is carried on when i finally reach the 1000 post club, or a small plinth for the vehicle will suffice
