Ian L Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Is there a company out there that will make a set of brake shoes ? They are all missing from my 1944 Standard UV Tilly & the Standard Flying 12 which is what the UV Tilly is based on has much smaller shoes. I do have a set for a pattern in the other Tilly but I don't want to start cannibalising it. Quote
MatchFuzee Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 Have you seen this site? http://www.classic-brakes.co.uk/ Quote
rustexpert Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 You could ask these; they certainly used to reline brake shoes. http://www.brake-eng.com/ Quote
79x100 Posted August 18, 2016 Posted August 18, 2016 These people in Cardiff say that they will make one-off or small batch shoes :- http://www.industrialfriction.com/brake-shoes/ I've never used them so it's not a personal recommendation. Quote

Ron Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I’ve used Villiers Services on a number of occasions http://villiersservices.co.uk/index.php?main_page=page&id=9&chapter=4 I’ve also used Saftek, but more expensive. http://www.saftek.co.uk/contactus.html Ron Quote
snowtracdave Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 This may be wasting your time but I regularly see a company trading as Chelsea Frictions at the Beaulieu autojumble . They do advertise in some of the magazines but I can't lay my hand on one to find a contact number for them at the moment . They have stocks of shoes for all sorts of stuff going back into the mists of time , it's possible they might be able to help you Quote
