Scammell4199 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Evening all, I'm looking for a new fuel gauge for our scammell pioneer. It is a simple mechanical item which fits in the side of the tank and was fitted to a number of similar heavy vehicles of the period. A number of years ago they could be found on many an auto jumble stand, but stupidly we didn't pick any up at the time. I need one for the Pioneer, but would ideally like two to put one in store for the matador. I've scoured the net with no joy. Anyone got any leads? Thanks, Richard Quote
Scammell4199 Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 It should be a Simms B75559. Thanks in advance, Richard Quote
N.O.S. Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Have you tried Bernie Smith? He has had them for sale from time to time, might be worth speaking to him. Richard Farrant Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 They are about, even if a bit pricey! http://geros1968.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=841 Quote
Scammell4199 Posted August 21, 2015 Author Posted August 21, 2015 Hi NOS & Richard, Yes I have tried Bernie and got a somewhat abrupt response from who I presume is his wife just saying "no". I found that one on eBay Richard, like you say a bit pricey. Hope to find a couple a bit more keenly priced. Thanks for your replies. Ear to the ground. Richard Quote
Scammell4199 Posted March 1, 2016 Author Posted March 1, 2016 Just wanted to bump this to the top, in the hope of jolting someones memory. Also, does anyone know of someone who could rebuild my original. I've tried Stephen Hodgson, Speedy Cables and Speedograph and none seem interested. Cheers, Richard Quote
