ArtistsRifles
Going through the pre-MOT checklist today on the Landie, working out whats left to do - suddenly dawned on me there are no seatbelts fitted to the front, nor does it look as though it's ever had them... Are seatbelts required for the MOT in ex-Military vehicles or are they exempt from that part of the requirement?? If they are required - how the hell do they fit in???? FV601 (R.I.P.)
Yes they are required. No age exemption on your particular vehicle Neil. I would suggest you ask Lee to take a look at how his one is fitted with belts.

ArtistsRifles
Will do Lee - on the plus side - if they were supposed to be there, then the mount points should still exist so all I have to do is find them, buy new belts and fit to those points. I hope!!!!
Snapper
I bought my Iltis because seatbelts came as standard. Tough on those with older vehicles....
ArtistsRifles
As she was trailered home I never gave seat belts a thought... It was only because I was going through the work remaining for the MOT that the light suddenly dawned that there were no belts in the cab. Bit worrrying 'cos I'm a great believer in using them, when fitted, wherever possible.
Mark
Have a look next time you are down the fort Neil
ArtistsRifles
Had a close look at mine tonight - no sign that I can see of any belts having been fitted - no holes in the floor or seat box for mount points etc. Now starting to confuse me (I know, I know - easily done before one of you says it!! :-) :-))

ArtistsRifles
Landie build date was Dec 1973 - confirmed by Gaydon. So - alas - it should have them :-( Just had a look Karl - thanks for that. Could indeed be the answer to my problem!!!! :-) :-) :-)
