What are these bits I found rattling about in my Scorpion?

And what are these clips that are located all round the turret? Mag holders? There are four or five all mounted on brackets that look quite new. The clips appear to be plastic.

SA80 A2 Rifle clips, for stowing your weapon out of the way so it doesn't rattle around and smash you in the face. 2nd photo down, 2 items far left are used for retaining the periscope in place.

Richard,

The bits with the plastic clips are SA80 brackets. You've got the barrel clip in one photo and the butt clip in another.

I can see how the SA80 racks work now. I guess that was quite a late addition to a Scorpion, mid-late 80's?

All the other bits seem a bit of a mystery though...

I found a brand new metal plate, still in wrapping, marked up as a splash screen, but can't figure where that goes either.

I must get the illustrated parts guide!

I'm not sure but I seem to remember that the splash screen is the hinged metal plate that sits above the gun inside the turret, and moves as the mantlet is elevated or depressed.

Picture number 2 object on the left is the periscope clamp x1 you need the other for a complete clamp.

Picture 1 is the base plate for the L85.A1/A2 rifle clamp.

And c.v.r.t. crews never got issued the L22 only charlie2 crews and some other units .
