Toolman
Hello I'm trying to decipher the infomation on my Ferret engine rebuild plate. 23 BW RE 88 is stamped on the plate. What and where is 23 Base Worshop and what does the RE 88 Refer to? Thanks Matt

Toolman
Thanks Clive But the date of rebuild is 19/05/78? MT
fv1609
Hmm that is very strange. I think they must have changed their minds because in Craftsman of the Army it bemoans the fact that it was due to close by 31 March 1964. It obviously didn't because later it states that 23 BW Wetter played an important part in the run up to Op Granby PS Put my proper glasses on it says 31 March 1994:wow: Edited February 16, 2011 by fv1609
Toolman
Thanks Clive But the date of rebuild is 19/05/78? MT Clive, think I have answered my own question. 23 BW closed in March 1994 http://baor-locations.co.uk/23BaseWorkshop.aspx Could the RE88 be workshop number or similar?
