I have a load more pictures to come if thats ok with everyone. Got kit like, diggers and earth movers, guns, Mortors, Rockets, Helicopters and anything else I can find. Tell me when you have had enough. Also I have found some more pictures that I will be placing in existing treads.

Thanks for looking and sorry for the lack of info. I know what 99.9% of the kit is but not commiting myself as to know what it all does.

Great picture thread. Any reason or answers as to why this is missing its rear wheel.........................

Maybe some of the track specialists can add something. But surely this set up must make the whole thing unbalanced and terrible to handle off-road. Look how much unsupported over hang is left.

Mark,

This is probably done as a matter of neccessity to get the vehicle out of a situation back to where repairs can be done. Good thing to practise, in case it happens in action. Apparantly CVR(T) vehicles have had a recent spate of rear idlers coming detached from the hull, due to the mounting bolts used being too short and the hull surface around the threaded hole, scabbing. This is from info put into the Army's information booklet, Kit magazine.

Richard is correct, it's a tempory repair procedure called half tracking/short tracking. It's used to allow the vehicle to track under it's own steam thus not tieing up a valuble recovery asset, it wouldn't have traveled to far just to an area where more permenant repairs can be effected.

Hello Dave, in some ways is great having all this kit on the doorstep mate. The photography is good but the local pubs, clubs and poor old Kabab shops do take a bit of a hammering sometimes. All understandable though, no different from anywhere else me thinks. Most of the kit in the pictures are based in the area, three tank Regiment,Artillary Regiments at Tiddy and Larkhill, plus all the REME, RE, Loggy's and AAC / RAF. Can get a bit noisy at time.
