  1. Great news, will look forward to the restoration thread. I bet the neighbours are thrilled!
  2. Not a bad couple of weekends. The bulkhead is now a lovely gloss brown as a base for the topcoat. I am nearly out of chassis black, and the brown came free! Petrol pump cleaned up, tested in the sink (!) and fitted. Ditributor cleaned and fitted. Pedals fitted. The first timber fitted, each side of the bulkhead for the bonnet to fit to. These are the original pieces and are in excellent condition following a good sanding. Various other odss and ends primed.
  3. So what is your vehicle? Would love to see it used in the correct place, perhaps a small donation to my MW restoration fund;). PM me?
  4. I have come by a brass Nomenclature plate for 'SCOUT CAR MK2' Makers No S 2750 WD No 25ZS69 Year of supply 1942. What would this vehicle be? Does it happen to have survived? (prob not if I have the plate!) If I find out a bit more I will probably post up in the Sales section if it has any interest.
  5. Thanks all! Popped in to the clubhouse, but forgot my wallet:D
  6. A quick thanks to the team for my birthday greeting yesterday. Automated or not, it is still a nice gesture and makes one feel part of the 'family'. Cheers. Paul.
  7. Lovely! Great work, cant wait to get to this stage with my project.
  8. Hi John The front panel does have captive nuts, thought I would try and mount the grille behind as per early models though, if it works. I do have the headlight rings, though would like to go for the early large headlights really. The bonnet bracket I am missing is the one off the front panel. Will speak soon, really really need to see your truck before I go too much further! Paul
  9. What about the waterless coolant, its expensive but sounds like good stuff. Anyone got any experience?
  10. A couple of weeks enforced absence from the workshop, still preservation related though! Finally got back to the Bedford for a while today and finished sorting the grille, made from an oversized mesh panel that came with her, quite pleased with the result. Also got a new camera for my birthday, so the pics should improve!
  11. Looks good, thanks fpr posting the pictures.
  12. Thanks gentlemen, food for thought indeed, the 'modernised' version sounds the way to go.
  13. Hi all, just wondering what is the best oil filter to use. My engine currently has the standard throw away canister as per original but are these easy to find? The truck also came with a filter housing much like the one that appears on Niels V's superb QL restoration. Are these elements easier to obtain / any better? Any recommendations from those with experience?
  14. Please let us know when you come over!
  15. Hope you enjoy your new toy:-). I dont think you will go far wrong with Dallas Autos, really nice people. ( For impartiality -Other Jeep specialist's are available!) :nut:
  16. Very nice. Do you ever come to the UK with any of your vehicles - would love to see them.
  17. Pleased to see it in good hands. What are your plans, restore in this configuration or return to the original wartime body style? Either way will make a lovely vehicle. There is one very similar to this in existance, but also under restoration, also a few in wartime spec.
  18. Lovely truck, looks great, like all your projects! Well done.
  19. Apparently the subject of a forthcoming episode of 'Wheeler Dealers' is a wartime Willys Jeep Mike Brewer imports from the US.
  20. Well done you! I look forward to the restoration thread. Did the one in the scrapyard in Herts ever get rescued does anyone know?
  21. Just to say this is a facinating thread, all credit for your ingenuity and patience! I really hope to see the Dodge in the flesh one day.
  22. Thats looking really good. You obviously never have a dull moment! Are you sure you have got time to go to work though?
