  1. I am about to start work on my MW bulkhead. Does anyone know if the heat shield protecting the passengers legs is made from that nasty stuff beginning with 'A' ? If so should I a) Leave it alone (it is covered by a steel sheet) b) Carefully remove C)Panic.
  2. Great to see its making progress. Hang on in there! Pics Pics we need pics!:-D
  3. Ian, that looks like some very skilled fabrication going on, hats off to you.
  4. Please keep us informed on what you find, it will help others no doubt. I was amazed how much silt I got out of the MW water jacket, rad is away being checked at the moment. Does anyone have strong opinions on fitting electric fuel pumps to help with vapurising problems. I have one on my vintage Dennis which certainly helps with fuel supply on a hot day, rad etc all checked out too though of course.
  5. Looks stunning. Inspiration indeed. Re your hinges, are the brass balls worn? If so they are probably the same as in series land rover hinges.
  6. Hi all! I am still here and working, anyone still there? progress slow but sure. Rear axle now cleaned and painted, tow bar stripped down and cleaned, will paint today plus a few other bits. Shopping list of parts growing, just waiting for bank account to catch up. Pics will follow. The main thing is I'm still in love with the truck!
  7. Looking good, IS the rain going to stop then???. The name is a nice touch.
  8. Well done to everyone involved, and thanks to all for the pics and films. 2014? The MW will be done by then, can I come?, can I?, please, can I? I am competent in the operation of a spud peeler, can I?, go on, please.:-D
  9. Can only offer encouragement and admiration.:nut: I Look forward to pictures of your restoration.:-)
  10. I have 4 of these light glasses (lenses). They are 12 1/2" across and marked G E C ltd. Any ideas what they are from?
  11. Only had a couple of hours today. Front axle back on:D, not painted yet though :-(. Back to work tomorrow .
  12. I've had the week off work, so made a bit more progress. Chassis is now in primer, gearbox back on, front springs back on, front panel primed, rear springs painted (need new bushes and pins) One of the shock absorbers. Unfortunatly 3 of the 4 leak fluid. I think attention will now turn to the axles.
  13. Thank you gents. I must admit I was wondering wether to 'wing it', but I will make some further enquiries. I have also emailed Norman Aishe (Bygone Bedford Bits).
  14. Hi guys Does anyone have any experience of Luvax shock absorbers as fitted to Bedford MWs? 3 of mine are leaking from around the drop arm. Are seals available, can they be rebuilt at home or do they need to go to a specialist? The manual suggests they are returned to the manufacturer!. Thanks in advance.
  15. Thats gonna be a cracking motor when finished! Keep the pics coming.:-)
  16. Chassis (almost) ready for primer at last. Rear axle and springs removed.
  17. Any of you aeroscreen owners got any shows booked this year? I really would like to see one or two in the flesh as it were and thought taking in an MV show at the same time would be good.
  18. Sorry, no pics yet as camera batteries flat! But have been getting on, Core plugs all in, water pump back on. Rear timberwork (body crossmembers) removed, rear shocks and brake pipes removed. Progress slow but sure!
  19. Nice work, the finished article really looks the business, a real eye catcher.
  20. Really looking good! Have done my rear core plug too by the way.
  21. Having built some new shelves for Bedford bits, have got back on the spanners. Removed clutch and flywheel and replaced the rear core plug. Will need to replace the clutch plate before reassembly.
