  2. I can not remember seing any thing like that on british vehicle (LRDG excluded) before it looks almost German... I have attached a couple of pictures of captured Scammells. I would also say the Royal Navy pioneer is pretty cool

  14. I found this ad for a 1931 WD Riley Nine. These are Fairly/Very rare so thought some one here might like it. Sadly I dont have the founds for buy any more vehicles, So I hope this would be bought by some who would appreciate the military history of this and not convert it in to a racing special, which happens with a lot of Riley and Bentley's. Most mechanical components are widely available from various sources and the Riley engines are impressive. Its twin cam, with the cams laying high on the side of the engine block. The ad is from Classic and sports car, December 2012. The rear of the body probably looks like the black and white picture.
  15. what about the Daimler Armoured cars..... it would be impressive if they stil where in service.
  16. Congrats... It looks good It could be either a QLT or QLR
  17. It is very normal to convert American La France, fire trucks in to racing cars. We have a couple in Denmark. They schould be fun to drive 14,8 litre 6 cyl. 3 sparkplugs pr cylinder. chain drive and a consuption of a liter pr 100 metres. The Technische museum in Germany also have two, and I think they did Paris to Peking in one of them.

    Restoration

That type of engine has a tendency to get cracks in the cylinder head in the water channels. We have had two 312, with water leaking in too the cylinders. If you can get one the mercedes 352 is a better engine and it fits the same engine mounts.
  19. I was having problems getting the handbrake adjusted, and finally I got fed up by it so I removed the rear brake drum/hubs. I bought a hub nut spanner on ebay awhile back... It makes life so much easier, and it saves the nuts from being worn. The biselectors where a bit unwilling in their movement, so they where stripped down, cleaned and repacked with grease and fitted with new gaskets. The brakes where cleaned and the liners are in good condition. I need to replace a couple of the studs and nuts for the half shaft/ sling plate, they where a bit rusty and one thread is gone.
  20. Hi Guy I dont know if its correct on mine but the front vertical sheet metal was one big piece... The rest is looking good as always. and my rear hatch
