  10. Hi Rick, as you are needing a lot of parts would it not be easier if possible to try and get the items Stateside and pay for part of a container ?? i am told the parts are cheaper but shipping is the killer. Downside is waiting for the the `bulk` purchase to arrive :-( Unless you just purchase all major parts from the U.S. and get smaller items locally/European so`s to speak. Ashley

  19. Hello all, this weekend visited Bovington Tank Museum at the end of season meet with the Dorset MVT, though the members were quite thin on the ground a museum visit and a tour of the workshop and storage depot made it a must ! whilst there spotted a dodgy looking character i am sure you can guess who ? http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0369.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0370-1.jpg[/img] there were (apparently some rare pieces of kit here to include a squirt pig ,a foaming (this was a term more to describe jerry whilst excited) and also a very rare red backed seat for the attention of Clive...ENJOY http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0382-2.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0381.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0379-1.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0375-1.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0374-1.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0378-1.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a344/atcase/DSCF0377-1.jpg[/img] I shall let jerry answer any questions... "peep"?

Hi, i believe the term `blitz buggy` was used by US troop stationed here (UK) referring to the Blitz which was on at the time (makes sense??)
  21. Hmmm, some good points here i attend Beltring with the jeep but for me it is mainly a social meeting place for me both on the vehicle front and the militaria front, and know people who attend the show 2-3 times during the week and never set foot in the vehicle fields. As for British trucks after the war there was one local firm (like others around the country) not to mention bus companies etc that converted military trucks to a `civilian spec`. My mate owned a bedford MW converted to a twin axle tipper (as seen in the film Hell Drivers) but much rarer as it was, than a military truck, and when he sold it 2 years ago the price he quoted was 2.5 times the price of a military spec vehicle :dunno: May be we have all become soft in our cosmopolitan modern society and drive U.S. vehicles so not to wear that nasty rough serge against our soft skin   PS there was a news bulletin on Meridian today re a Barn fire in Hampshire, and in one clip was a forlorn Matador which looked as if it to was burning   better get one HF be for the prices rise Ashley
  22. We had enough of the `plains dust` after just one short jolly this year in May i think Jack is still trying to brush his cargo bed clean :-D Ashley
