  2. Hi Lloyd, most of the buckets i have seen in ww2 use by the germans were of metallic in nature. Those markings are not of typicall german equiptment markings and the swastica stamp may well of been added to increase value and or falsify item (JMHO) Ashley
  3. Guess :schocked: :schocked: :-D Ashley

  6. Hi, i think your friend should plow all his cash in to a top rate resto  and may he could send me details of the trailer on board to give him more room in his garage :-D Ashley
  7. Hi all, just returned from Beaulieu, christ what piss pour weather, but what a show which i believe will grow in the future. Had a very quick intro with lightweight but he moved camp early next morning (must have been the wife snoring but he claimed it was wind !! ) recognised some faces(vehicles) from here, met Berni, Ross and friends, but i was always engaged on some task or another to really seek members out :-(. Saturday was great weather wise and managed to get a few pictures to post later. Sunday things began to deteriorate with the rain etc and sunday night was pretty horrible which is when quite a few packed up (or blew away) As mentioned this was a great setting and there is room for large numbers to participate and as far as i can gather the museum staff etc are keen to have us back next year (i hear that provisional booking for three more years have been pencilled in) Lord Montague looked pretty Frail as he listened to the pipe band but he must be getting on in years. Well all we unpacked the van jeep is in the garage and the sun IS shinning outside typical Ashley
  8. Hi Fred, the main problem is most members travel with local groups/friends they have met up with in previous years. The Americas field is dotted with groups, with members of the forum it is just a matter of tracking em down :cofee:  Ashley
  9. Yep, I`ll be there with jeep, wifey`s bringing the caravan. We will probaly head out Friday evening if not early Saturday AM. Ashley
  10. Hi Jack, a great offer, just depends wether we get the day trip to France organised or not. Ashley
  11. Hi all, had my name down for last few years but have never been invited :? most probaly through being a jeep owner given up asking now. Ashley
  12. Strange ? i did not hear the barking (snoring) in the 5* suite The Plains Pikey Ashley
  13. Yep, i am booked in for the weekend, depending on family commitments may also try and fit in a visit to Overlord on one of the days. Ashley
  14. HHMMM, i`ll have to get my butler to serve my breakfast earlier that morning. Ashley
  15. Nice one Enigma, looks like a great show. Ashley
  16. Welcome Cris, glad you enjoyed the weekend, and welcome to the forum. Ashley
  17. Well Ian, the truth being was that the duty Range warden (cant remember his title) caused a few ruffled feathers :n00b: also on the sunday there was up to 4000 walkers/runners on the plain doing a sponsered walk/run many of which got a good coating of dust by persons unknown :dunno:, and with local disputes being fought over it was decided to break camp on the Sat PM. but after a 35(+-) mile off road drive i belive we all thought that the weekend was complete as could be and with rain in the offing it was best to head for the hills. Ashley
  18. Dave, there`s no need, to fear for next year Vic the demon "ball rubber" plans to wipe the floor with all of us :shake: By the way Jack that is a fantastic picture of your model truck is it a Frog or Revell kit ?? Ashley

  21. Hi lightweight, as far as i know Khaki, or dark earth matt was the basic colour for British vehicles C.1942 as during those days of black and white film (reconnaissance) the ground showed up in a very light colour. On the log sheet of my ford the colour on de-mob is khaki as of 1959, when according to all regulations it should have been Bronze green or stone in colour :dunno: Ashley
