  1. Clear, consice and so easy to understand. A lot of modern apprentices would benfit from doing drawings like that, or looking at them. Ever thought of publishing them? They'd make great posters for a boys room.
  2. Now that is a legacy! Beautifully drawn. He'd be proud to know his knowledge is still of intrest and education to others.
  3. Surley if you own the vehicle you can insure at your home address? It is a legal requirment of all UK policy that there are at least 90 days of coverage in EU countries, so you'd be insured under that to bring it back. The vehicle VR5 or equivalent should be filled in for export so that when you get back to Customs and make the decleration the dreaded VAT is or is not imposed, and you are then covered to drive to home, but no futher, till English registration is obtained. Might be worth talking to an Insurance Brocker rather than a company. They have the specialist knowledge of which company can help. As for VAT, that can be arranged through the shipper. The last time I had to do that the Company rep asked me value on a 1941 Austin K3, I said well that age scrap value perhaps £200? He was quite happy and the VAT was paid , the vehicle released, and I got the hell out of Portsmouth! Katy, when I explained she was a bequest and Carol had died over a year and a day before, the reply was personal property no VAT have a safe trip.
  4. Seems odd. Cherished Cars did it for me when I brought Katy back from 'Forign' parts with no problems. However, if it is on forign plates you are only legal to bring the vehicle from port of entry to home,

  7. WARNING: Part of the filter in these is ASBESTOS. Never try one out.
  8. Afraid not. But it was quite a common type of engine in the 1960's 70's. 4 cylinder not to powerful. Could be worth looking around for more info.
  9. Seen similar , were described as Rocket Pouches, though what rocket was for I don't know.
  10. I know quite a few are still gathering dust in local authority emergency stores.
  11. As an alternate, the old austin /morriss 420FG engine goes in nicley, andf has a disiel option.
  12. Stainless steel in all the cylinders+ master. Cupro nickel pipe, modern fluid, fit and forget. I've seen Pastparts works on a QL master cylinder. Same/cheaper than NOS replacements, and who knows where they have been?
  13. To be really sure on what would be a lengthy tow, you'd need half shafts out and/or prop shafts. Trailer is definitly the answer.
  14. Welcome in. Like hard work then, two right pains to look after.
  15. Very funny rules on use of a dolly. I'd suggest a trailer may be the better option. You can hire them.
  16. The handle rod has a square bit stuck on the end to fit onto the other one. For some reason that always seems to be the one that gets lost.
  17. Are you sure 'THEY' aren't searching the net for subversive opinions?:nut:
  18. Great place the Big Pit, lots of very BIG toys!
  19. Davy was a Pastie basher. Merthyr means Matyr or Saint in Welsh, and is quite a common prefix .The AJAX family is being designated from Greek Mythology, Ajax was rated as a great definsive commander, more a thinker than a fighter. So for a See and Scoot vehicle, ideal.
  20. Don't visit Wales for a while Boyo! Actually if you do, visit the Big Pit Coal mine and musuem bloody amazing place, if you don't mind total darkness and are claustraphobic. 300 feet down into the actual mine.
