  1. Try a Polish rail tunnel? There is, if I can find it, a picture of a similar collection at Springfield Stadium in Jersey in 1945. With a Char B being driven over all of them.
  2. Try a plumbers supply place. BSP is often used on things like this.
  3. Yes the second pipe is the induction pipe to create the vacum. Fuel goes from the bottom to the carb. Long time since I had anything to do with them, so can't remeber where the vacum is drawn from.
  4. One silly story of US/British slang. I was on the Tube (Slang for London Underground) A group of American teenagers got on. One very pretty young girl said to her male companion 'What did that guy call you? then she said so wistfully W*nker' 'We'll have that word all round the town when we get home. I was on the floor laughing, as our UK readers will imagine. I then had the very embarrasing job of explaining to her that Er, it means what is politley called 'Self Abuse'. :red:
  5. The formula is very simple. Volts X Amps = Watts. So take the Wattage divide by voltage and you get the ampage the circuit requires. Though do look up the DC ampage. AC current runs ON a wire DC current runs IN a wire.
  6. We used to able to own and shoot pistols in the UK. Then an incident happned right before a General Election, and the rest is history.... :embarrassed: ie I'm as jealous as hell!!
  7. Man discovered electricity! And God introduced the Earth in case they got to clever! I now add extra earth straps., and attach all with spicky anti shake washers on all the starter circuits. Never assume the earth is OK even if it seems rock tight.
  8. Now it works, now it don't. That does sound like the earth. Apart from one other rather embararising situation. You did reconnect the battery and tighten the clamps? Won't hurt to add a few extra earth straps. I've done it to both my Dodges, stopped a number of stupid problems.
  9. Axles and gear box on chassis, the engine sized. Yard being cleared so if you want it come and get it. PM for further details.
  10. You can go off people. Thanks to our .............. politicians.
  11. Pictures! Um, dozens. I'm quite happy to send you any I have for your general use. A friend of mine did a commision for me for Carol, Katy's restorer and former owner. He did her in a Norfolk style setting. Totally alien to where Katy was in Jersey, but just the sort of area she'd have worked in at a USAAF base. So Value the artist's imagination.
  12. Not sure. I've a number of drawings and paintings of mine. Perhaps a generic one like the SAS jeep?
  13. There does seem to be a lack of a decent line artist in the MV world at the moment. Fancy a go at a Dodge?
  14. Duck Oil is cheraper. As to removing residue, I've found a very weack solution of Sugar Soap works wonders prior to retouching.
  15. I'd plump for Headcorn. I've always found it a very friendly intresting place to show , and the avation side is added interest. The did have the Flying Proms there a few years back. Now the 1812 Oveture with real artillery is good. Spitfire Prelude and Fuge , from the film First of the Few, outdoors, with full orchestra and a Spitfire and Mustang doing low (Grass trimming) passes! UNBELIVABLE!!!
  16. It's a P07!!!! Luger improved on the original Borchart design nothing more. The American's sales people named it 'Luger' as P07 Parabellum (Prepare for War) wasn't considered good marketing. Three were built in .45 ACP for US Army testing, but the Colt 1911 designed by John Moses Browning, not Colt, was selected. If you can find the one outstanding P07 .45 ACP pistol, you won't be short of the cost of MV's for a while.
  17. Well that explains the stunned look and baggy pants.
